Reporting to the Clinical Manager, the Clerk, Niagara Eating Disorders Program functions as a member of the team, striving to provide an excellent patient experience. The Clerk's role will be responsible for performing administrative and clerical duties including out-patient scheduling and appointment bookings, filing, data inputting and other various clerical functions within the Niagara Eating Disorders Program.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Graduate of a Medical Office Administration Program or Medical Terminology Certificate or equivalent in related experience
- Working experience transcribing and/or understanding/utilizing medical terminology
- One year related clerical experience in a high volume, fast paced department within a health care/clinical setting
- One year experience with computer software including Microsoft Office programs, with data entry experience
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in dealing with mental health clients, their families and community agencies required
- Knowledge of Recovery Based Care within an interdisciplinary team setting
- Accurate keyboarding skills with a minimum of 50 w.p.m
- Flexible, self-directed and able to work effectively with mínimal supervision.
- Working knowledge of medical office procedures and office equipment, i.e. photocopiers, fax, voice mail systems etc.
- Evidence of effective customer service, interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to respect the confidentially of personnel and patient information.
- Compliance with confidentiality requirements under the Niagara Health Privacy Policy.
- Demonstrated professional attitude while interacting with the public, patients, employees and medical staff.
- Ability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Proficiency in both official languages (English & French) will be considered an asset.
- Consistent and regular attendance required.
- Vaccines (COVID-19 and others) are a requirement of the job unless you have an exemption based on medical or on a ground pursuant to the Ontario Human Rights Code.
