White Spot

White Spot is a great place to visit for any meal occasion and a wonderful place to work. We are currently looking for an FOH Service Manager at our Abbotsford, Whatcom location, attached to the Clarion Hotel & Conference Centre.

We are a high-volume restaurant open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Whatcom White Spot operates as an on-site restaurant for Clarion Hotel and offers room service.

As Service Manager, you are responsible for the restaurant's overall service and guest satisfaction, including achieving revenue targets for the store. Reporting directly to the Restaurant Manager.

In addition to day-to-day shift management, Managers are responsible for:

- Coordinating in-store promotions
- Maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety
- Demonstrating a “guest first” attitude always
- Recruit, train, motivate, manage and develop team members on service excellence.
- Be on the floor at peak times, ensuring appropriate service levels at all times.
- Assist where necessary, working with staff to improve their skills and maximize marketing and sales opportunities.
- Develop and participate in a positive work environment, maintain open communication between manager and staff, between FOH and BOH
- Ensure all standards and policies are followed.
- Achieve financial targets related to the FOH, including cheque average, labour cost and productivity goals.
- Stay current with operations review and guest services.
- Promote a passion for service and salesmanship.

Job Requirements:

- Minimum of 2 years of supervising experience in a restaurant setting
- Proficiency in POS systems, including Micros POS
- Passion for service and commitment to quality
- Strong attention to detail and eye for presentation
- Conceptual understanding of restaurant controls and financial statements
- A thorough understanding of Food Safe and WCB requirements
- A proven record of training and developing a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- High energy and a winning attitude
- Commitment to continuous learning and improvement
- Kitchen experience is considered an asset
- Must be available to work Evenings and Weekends.
