**Salary Range**: $69,283.00-$81,510.00 annually
Reporting to the Group Leader of Total Rewards, supporting the payroll group as the Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible and expected to engage in all aspects of the payroll process. This will include processing a weekly payroll, supporting and working within the Kronos timekeeping system, processing bonuses and off cycle payments, completing payroll year-end, supporting the payroll help counter/inquiries, and supporting special projects. The position will require you to work smart, and efficiently in a fast-paced and sometime stressful environment. You will be required to multi-task while dealing with various distractions and tight deadlines. A good payroll administrator must have strong teamwork skills and ability to adapt quickly.
**Responsibilities**:
Process weekly and monthly payroll with a high accuracy level adhering to strict timelines.
Process bonus and off cycle payments.
Administer year-end statement reconciliation.
Annual preparation of T4's and reconciling government remittances.
Administer garnishments per legislative requirement.
Assist Associates at the Help Desk and provide support to supervisors for payroll and hour's confirmation / inquiries.
Conduct weekday and/or weekend work / orientations / training sessions.
Process ROE's accurately within the required timeline per Service Canada guidelines.
Process data from online form submissions through DocuSign and Smartsheets
Assist with time card audits within timekeeping system
Prepare payroll documentation (letters of employment, third party income requests, etc.).
Filing, data entry, and supporting pension and benefits activities as required.
**Qualifications**:
**Requirements**:
Three-year diploma/degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in a Business or Finance related field or equivalent.
Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) designation, or currently enrolled.
Direct work experience processing a large volume payroll.
Be a team player and demonstrate the ability to develop and sustain positive working relationships with all levels of Associates.
Demonstrated understanding of payroll processes / theory and related legislation.
Strong computer & technology skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint & HRIS systems)
Proven ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
Demonstrated sense of responsibility, strong work ethic, positive team attitude, attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
**Preferred Experience**:
Experience with Time and Attendance system
Experience using PeopleSoft HRMS including creating and running queries.
Experience multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication, collaboration, teamwork and people skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Experience presenting to large groups.
Detailed oriented and with a strong aptitude for working with numbers.
**Job Related Must Haves**:
Willing and able to work overtime on short notice
Willing to cancel pre-booked vacation as required
Willing and able to work during summer and winter shutdowns
Willing and able to travel if required
**Additional Information**:
HCM provides a competitive salary structure and starting wage based on previous, related experience. Additionally, HCM provides weekly, monthly, and annual attendance bonuses, equaling a potential additional $1.40 per hour; a Team Achievement Bonus paid two times per year; an industry leading Defined Contribution (DC) pension that includes company contributions and company matching; and a comprehensive benefit plan that provides choice and flexibility with the cost subsidized by company contributions. HCM also provides shift premiums paid at 5% per hour up to $1.70 for afternoon shift, and 10% per hour up to $3.40 for the overnight shift.
