**JOB DESCRIPTION**
**Duties**:

- BC Hydro has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Security Services Manager to join our
- team and manage the delivery of day-to-day security operations for the organization. The role
- resides in the Security and Emergency Management team reporting to the Manager, Security.
- Fundamentally, this role ensures BC Hydro maintains an integrated physical security system that
- not only protects our facilities, people, and operations, but also North America’s Bulk Electric
- System.
- This role manages BC Hydro’s day-to-day physical security operations including monitoring and
- response, compliance, security system service and maintenance, and policy / procedure
- development. The Manager will be expected to manage the contracted security services provider,
- providing operational oversight to a 24/7 Security Command Centre, security guards and
- infrastructure security services.
- As the Security Services Manager you will work closely with others on the team to monitor
- evolving security risks and adjust security plans and operations accordingly. The position will
- establish strong working relationships with internal business units and with contractors.
- Familiarity with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) Critical Infrastructure
- Protection standards is an asset. The role requires strong communication skills to be a change
- agent for and promote a culture of good security.
- Summary of the Role:

- manner, ensuring privacy.- security programs and associated systems.
- Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Your overall goal is to provide security-related expertise and operational knowledge to safeguard

BC Hydro. You will also be responsible to be familiar with security standards and programs,
- relevant operating procedures, and NERC Critical Infrastructure Protection compliance
- requirements. Your team will deliver day-to-day security which includes such things as physical
- access control, alarm monitoring and response, incident response, security system integration,
- service and maintenance, and security guard management. You will support development of
- security plans, and where appropriate bring new ideas or creative solutions to improve security
- posture, reduce operating expenses and/or create more efficiencies.- You will maintain requirements outlined in security programs and develop security operating

procedures to achieve results. Critical to your success will be the ability to manage contracts,
- ensuring vendors deliver contractual obligations and meet performance targets. The role works
- closely with team members to operationalize security plans and ensure compliance requirements
- are met.- The role will manage a team of internal and contracted resources and will promote an inclusive

and collaborative work environment.
- Other Duties, Responsibilities and involvement:
- Manage the day-to-day security operations of the organization including the 24/7 Security

Command Centre, security guards (static and mobile), and service and maintenance. This
- includes oversight of the Integrated Security Operator contract which delivers multi-facet
- deployment of security services, involving a workforce of over 50 people.- Responsible for managing the Integrated Security Operator contract ensuring vendor(s) meet

performance requirements and costs are managed.- Work with others on the team to review security plans and ensure they are ready for operations.

This includes security plans to protect assets, people (and the public) and BC Hydro’s operations.- Act as an escalation for incident response, following operating procedures, or making decisions
