Convergint is looking for a full-time, team-oriented, results-driven, BAS Design Supervisor, to join our amazing culture in one of our Canadian locations. The BAS Design Supervisor has the overall responsibility of reviewing project mechanical drawings, specifications, vendor shop drawings and creating a design for Building Automation Systems for different projects as and when required. This role will spend time with the design manager towards mentoring the junior designers and new colleagues, attend meetings and create estimates for BAS design submittal and graphics. In addition, working with the design manager and team to develop and maintain in-house engineering standards, libraries and procedures.

**What you’ll do with “Our Training and Your Experience”**
- Carries out in-depth analysis of mechanical drawings, functional specifications and contracts in order to determine and advise on overall project requirements.
- Attend meetings and create estimates for BAS design and graphics.
- Works alongside Design Manager to mentor the junior designers and new colleagues.
- Reviews the incoming projects requirements and be able to respond to requests, creating team schedule and maintain the required deliverable timelines.
- QAQC: Reviews formal submittal booklets, containing schematics, and technical literature as necessary to support each contract.
- Provides input, reviews and may prepare design submittal package based on project plans and specifications, showing location of devices, equipment, and wiring etc.
- Provides onsite assistance with the graphics creation and/or mapping/binding and training. Create different HVAC mechanical graphical backgrounds along with point identification.
- Develop and maintain in-house engineering standards, libraries and procedures.
- Liaise with Project Managers, clients, contractors, partners and vendors to manage the Engineering design of the project in a successful manner.
- Advises Project Managers regarding appropriate products needed for installation, identifying any items which have longer lead times. Helps them with the change order estimation, BOM and design.
- Proactively communicates engineering schedules, change order proposals (as applicable) and related engineering activities on a regular basis with the Project Manager and seeks to continuously improve customer satisfaction.
- Assists the Project Manager in utilizing financial systems to review actual vs. estimated job cost and to provide timely and accurate project cost reports; identify reasons for low productivity on engineering and determine concurrent impact on the project.
- Acts as a technical resource and support to sales executives including attending pre booking meetings and turnover meetings.
- Prepares graphics databases as well as ready to learn programming for computer based systems.
- Using technical knowledge, skills and experience, acts as mentor and provides training for less experienced staff. Provides performance feedback to management regarding Designers, Engineering Specialist I and II. Transfers knowledge and expertise to other Specialists.
- Acts as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times thereby ensuring Convergint Technologies is the customer’s first choice for service.
- Adhere to and promote the Company’s health and safety procedures as well as ensuring Provincial and local regulations are followed.
- Presents a professional image of Convergint Technologies at all times in appearance and behavior and seeks opportunities to promote the services offered by the company.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
