**contract opportunity**.

**Role Description**:
The BA positions report to the IT Team Lead and work closely with IT and business departments.

The Business Analyst fills a key role on the Project Team, helping to successfully deliver business solutions that enable the City to meet and beat business goals and objectives. This Business Analyst is responsible for business process re-engineering and business requirements analysis across all phases of the project. As a Business Analyst, you collaborate with key stakeholders from technology and the business to document the current business processes and define the business model and procedures and are responsible for ensuring that the final deliverables meet the intended needs of the business.

One of their strategic goals is to simplify and modernize the technology used by city departments to deliver and expand digital services to the residents of the city. The BAs will leverage customer-centric design principles to create simple and intuitive public-facing technology solutions thereby improving customer service to the residents.

**Responsibilities**:

- Leads/Elicits business requirement gathering and analysis from the key project and program stakeholders.
- Contributes to requirements on RFPs: Documents system business requirements and translates them into technical requirements.
- Assesses the impact of the proposed business requirements on the systems and collaborates with 3rd party technical specialists to propose solutions.
- Researches solution options as required.
- Provides input to cost-benefit analyses on solution options.
- Documents current/to-be data flow and process workflow, business requirements in various forms such as business requirements document (BRD), use cases, user scenarios, user stories, service design blueprints, business process maps, functional and technical specifications, etc. Ensures documents are catered to the audience and effectively translate business requirements and that documents are maintained regularly throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conducts process reviews, process improvement and impact assessment due to system changes or new implementations. Identifies all activities required to support to-be processes.
- Conducts gap analysis between business rules, business requirements, legislative/compliance requirements and desired to-be state.
- Supports and contributes to reports or presentations on solution options, the status of current and future work activities, work plan, change readiness, UAT, etc.
- Works with project or program team(s) on solution design, ensuring the needs and business goals of stakeholders are met throughout the project lifecycle.
- Works with business analysts on other projects to identify critical interdependencies.
- Plans production readiness activities with stakeholders and project/program managers.
- Plans and coordinates user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Monitors vendor ticketing systems and ensure all issues are accurately and timely documented.
- Assists with the development of metrics within system-related technology and business organizations.

**Experience**:

- 6+ years experience in a Business Analysis role.
- Minimum of six years of current, relevant experience working in a medium to large-sized IT department/organization working with multiple teams of technical staff; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Minimum 5 years implementing SaaS and COTS products in a hybrid of business solutions. Experience as a digital strategist, in implementing data-driven digital service initiatives or of large-scale Cloud-based digital transformation is highly desirable
- Experience in Business Process Model and Notation (BPMN) is an asset.
- Government Experience (asset but not mandatory).
- Past experience in Project Management and/or Change Management is desirable.

- Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills.
- Work closely and build strong trust-based relationships with new and existing clients while collaborating with the Spot Solutions team members over the entire life cycle of the project.
