BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) is hiring a **Temporary Project Coordinator, Scope Expansion**.**

**Role Summary**

In accordance with the Mission, Vision and Values, and strategic directions of BC Emergency Health Services, patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at BC Emergency Health Services, and as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all patient and employee safety aspects of this position.

The Project Coordinator works in collaboration with the Sr. Practice Leader to identify and prioritize projects and is responsible for the coordination of projects including data collection and analysis, information dissemination, and education for key stakeholders including relevant policy/decision makers; and/or research, health system support, and academic development. The Project Coordinator is actively involved in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of such projects, and maintains primary project coordination responsibility. Supports team efforts with internal and external partners on ongoing programs and initiatives to improve the quality of relevant information/data. Coordinates a diversity of projects of varying size and scope in a complex and changing multidisciplinary environment.

**What you’ll do**
- Coordinates the execution of projects, assuring they are done in an efficient manner, that they adhere to project protocols, and that they are completed within the required timelines. Supervises staff or students assisting in large or complex projects.
- Identifies, collects, and analyzes relevant information/data relating to current projects, and provides input and recommendations to project/program team for development, implementation, analysis, dissemination of findings, and policy/practice implications.
- Provides and presents reports to internal stakeholder groups, external agencies, organizations, and other stakeholders. Assists with the dissemination of information and knowledge related to projects and key programs and initiatives under the identified mandate areas through a variety of vehicles.
- Actively supports the management and facilitation of time-limited projects and programs to identify best practice-grounded strategies and activities for health professionals, policy/ decision makers, and the public in research, practice, and policy.
- In collaboration with management, coordinates the implementation of approved recommendations resulting from research, best practice, and policy reviews.

**What you bring**

**Qualifications**

A level of education, training and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Health, Business or Information Technology plus five (5) years of recent related experience, preferably in a health care environment.

**Skills & Knowledge**
- Deep understanding of MS Excel and reporting.
- Developed analytical skills and demonstrated ability to locate, extract, synthesize and present information.
- Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions.
- Ability to communicate ideas and concepts and to prepare correspondence, reports, minutes and summaries.

**Indigenous Cultural Safety and Diversity**
- Knowledge of Canadian colonial impacts on Indigenous people in social and health contexts, supported by significant knowledge of Canadian and Indigenous ideologies, including knowledge, and understanding of Indigenous cultural safety, cultural humility, Indigenous-specific racism and anti-racism.
- Awareness of and commitment to learning and understanding the Truth & Reconciliation Commission’s 94 Calls to Action (2015), In Plain Site Report (2020), BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019), and Reclaiming Power and Place Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women & Girls calls for justice, and how they intersect across the health care system.
- Supports team members on their learning journey, ensuring education strategy for team/department to implement Indigenous Cultural Safety at a practical level.
- Works collaboratively with appropriate Indigenous teams/departments to ensure ICS lens applied holistically.
- Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).
- Knowledge of social, economic, political and historical realities impacting indigenous communities and familiarity with Indigenous Cultural Safety and anti-racism and accompanying reports (BC DRIPA, TRC, etc.)
