Job Description:
: Support the HFC Technology Evolution team by setting up test environments analysis on technologies and architectures deployed in Hybrid Fibre Coax and Fibre to the Home networks.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Create and execute tests of telecommunication equipment based on RF, optical and digital modulation technologies.
- Prepare analysis and reports on different network architectures, both HFC and FTTH
- Work with multiple standards- R-PHY and DAA networks-
- DOCSIS 3.1-
- 10G EPON-
- MOCA 2.5-
- High-Split HFC systems-
- DWDM- Work in a small and dynamic Engineering team
- Setup test environments that simulate our outside plant network
- Document the lab environment in Google Docs including physical equipment, labeling, hardware & software versions
- Closely track tests performed, test results, and summarize test activities
- Demonstrate the environment to other staff members and management
- ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

ACADEMIC TRAINING- Currently in 2nd or higher year of post-graduate program in Electrical and Computer Engineering, Communication Systems and Networks, or Communication and Signal Processing- WORK EXPERIENCE- Engineering, Telecommunications or software work experience extremely beneficial-
- Project work with small teamsSPECIFIC COMPETENCIES- Strong aptitude for technology with a positive and inquisitive attitude-
- Solid understanding of and interest in Computers, Internet, IP Networking-
- General understanding of broadband, telecom, cable and internet industries is an asset.-
- Must demonstrate a strong attention to detail-
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team-
- Experience using Google suite of tools (Docs, Drive, Sheets)-
- Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral, written, and listening). Ability to communicate in English (both oral and written) is essential.-
- Demonstrated ability to work independently-
- General understanding of broadband, telecom, cable and internet industries is an asset.-
