**REAL ESTATE LAW CLERK**

**Responsibilities**:

- Client Engagement: Establish and maintain client relationships, providing updates and information related to their transaction from the initial contact until the file is reported.
- File Management: Oversee client files, ensuring they are up-to-date, organized, and secure. Ensure correct logging of all important data into the system.
- Use of Electronic Systems: Use Teraview and the Unity conveyancing platform proficiently to manage and streamline real estate transactions.
- Title Search: On and Off title searching and reporting to lawyer of record.
- Drafting and/or Responding to Requisitions: Promptly and accurately draft and/or respond to letters of requisition and be proactive in resolving any issues or concerns that arise.
- Preparation of Statements of Adjustments: Prepare and review Statements of Adjustments, ensuring all calculations are correct and funds are accurately represented.
- Reviewing Documents: Review all legal documents related to the transaction for accuracy and completeness. This includes, but is not limited to, agreements of purchase and sale, deeds, and lease agreements.
- Coordination and Collaboration: Work closely with other parties involved in transactions, such as lawyers, real estate agents, and brokers. This includes coordination of closing activities and ensuring the necessary documents are properly recorded and filed.
- Transaction Closure Management: Handle all necessary steps to close transactions. This involves reviewing and verifying closing documents, confirming that all contract conditions are met, and coordinating the disbursement of funds.
- Workflow Management: Control the workflow within a busy real estate practice, ensuring all tasks are carried out effectively and efficiently.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of real estate laws and regulations, ensuring all transactions adhere to these guidelines.
- Continued Learning: Keep updated with changes in real estate law and related areas through continuous learning and professional development.
- Client Confidentiality: Ensure all client information is strictly confidential, adhering to all privacy laws and regulations.

**Skills/Knowledge/Experience Required**:

- Minimum 3 years of direct experience within Real Estate Law practice area
- Self directed and organized
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, with an emphasis on excellence to our clients
- Relevant post-secondary education (University Degree or Law Clerk Diploma)
- Extensive knowledge of Unity, Teraview, Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Teams), and Adobe.
- Highly organized and able to multi-task and prioritize appropriately.

The Ross Firm values our professional staff. We have implemented a 80-100-100 4-day work week as well as a defined benefit pension plan. These programs complement our existing benefit coverage and fitness contribution plans. The Ross Firm offers a hybrid work schedule, with a work from home option one day per week, or more if needed. Remuneration will account for experience. Staff are paid for 5 days while working 4 non compressed days.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

**Salary**: $44,000.00-$54,000.00 per year
