Veterinary Technician

Welcome to the beautiful small town of Binbrook, located just outside of Hamilton. We are seeking to add 1-2 skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technicians to our team of caring individuals. As our Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing our patients and clients with a high level of care. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a clinic where you can make a difference in the lives of animals and their owners.
Duties include:
- Assist the veterinarian in examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
- Administer medications, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
- Complete in-house lab tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and fecal examinations, prepare samples for outside lab testing. We are fully equipped with a new Idexx in-house lab including a Sedivue for quicker urinalysis results.
- Perform digital radiographs and complete consults with radiologists when needed.
- Anesthetic induction, and monitoring during procedures.
- Provide post-operative care and monitor recovery.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation
- Clean and sterilize equipment and instruments, as well as machine maintenance.
- Assist with inventory management of medical supplies
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician. (Registration preferred, willing to help new grads).
- Previous experience working as a Veterinary Technician is highly desired but onsite training is provided to new grads.
- Proficient knowledge of laboratory procedures and equipment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Compassionate nature with a genuine love for animals
- Ability to handle animals.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 36 per week
