**About the role**

As the Environmental, Health, and Safety and Security Lead you will be responsible for developing

and managing an elite Health and Safety program in a brand new and growing food manufacturing

facility. This role will provide leadership for the site, establishing an EHS culture of excellence. The

site EH manager designs and implements the EHS management system to ensure compliance

with corporate and regulatory requirements. Position reports to Plant Manager.

Position Responsibilities (Expected Work)

1. This is a leadership role and a valued member of the Plant Leadership Team.

2. The HS&E Manager will have one direct report

3. To be successful in this role, you will have experience in the design and implementation of an environmental,

health and safety management system.

4. Taking that expertise, you will blend your experience with our Upfield Global Safety Program and manage

the implementation and maintenance.

5. Lead safety development for all plant employees and leaders, and act as a coach on the behavior-based

program.

6. Ensure the site maintains up-to-date operating permits and link with 3rd parties as needed.

7. ** Use your expertise and experience to assess and review the current program and identify a process and

plan to ensure the Plant is exceeding safety expectations.

8. In collaboration with the site team, complete annual review of Health, Safety and environment program and

advises on EHS site-specific plans by gathering and presenting information such as data on accident history,

and audit results/findings, and maintaining information in the EHS database.

9. Own and manage incident reporting and investigation process and facilitate root cause analysis and the

development of effective action plans for incidents as needed and act as a coach for leaders on the process.

10. Advise on CAPEX projects and conduct reviews to ensure EHS aspects are integrated into the scope of work.

11. Review and follow up with site leadership to ensure corporate programs are implemented and action plans are

executed.

12. Prepare and conduct periodic occupational health and safety sites audits and ensure that all corrective actions

are executed.

13. Support and facilitate the delivery of selected EHS training

14. Conduct regulation follow-up, analysis, and work with the site to ensure compliance.

15. Oversee the wastewater treatment plant performance and provide guidance to address non-compliances.

16. Act as the facility's primary contact for all environmental and OHS regulatory officials (Federal, Provincial,

Municipal).

17. A Successful HS&E Manager requires strength in organization, systems, electronic tools and document

management.

Scope

1. We employ approx. 120 Employees currently with plans to expand by 20-30% in 2025.

Knowledge

Education University or college diploma in occupational health and safety or Environment or related field or related experience

Experience: 7-10 years of experience in industrial, environment, health and safety or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Sound knowledge on environmental, health and safety management (ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001).
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
- Knowledge of wastewater treatment plants
- Excellent teamwork, Communication, Interpersonal and influencing Skills - able to work with leadership teams at

different sites and other stakeholders across Canada to achieve project goals.
- Good knowledge of the major risks such as machine safety, lockout/tagout, confined space, powered industrial

trucks, work at Height, chemical management, and ergonomics.
- Good knowledge of major environment risks
- Training in incident investigation and root cause is an asset.
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, theory and case law on safety and the Association of Canadian Standards (CSA).
