We are Lloyd Burns McInnis LLP, a law firm located in Toronto. We are seeking a Legal Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis.

This is a hybrid position that requires two days in the office or as needed, with flexibility.

**Scope of Duties**:
As a Legal Assistant, here are some of the things that you would be tasked with:

- Assist with scheduling depositions, hearings, and trials
- Provide administrative support as needed, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and maintaining office supplies
- Assist with preparation and organization of legal documents, including pleadings, discovery requests, and motions
- Coordinate and manage case files, including filing documents with the court, maintaining electronic and hard copy records, and tracking deadlines
- Communicate effectively with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel
- Conduct research on legal issues as needed
- Has 3-5 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, with preference for experience in insurance defence litigation
- Formal Education in a relevant field of study including Paralegal Studies, Legal Administration and/or Law Clerk
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills, time management skills, and attention-to-detail
- Familiarity with legal terminology, court rules and procedures, and e-filing
- Is an excellent written and verbal communicator
- Can follow instructions, work independently, and provide meaningful contributions as a member of a fast-paced team
- Comfortable working with Word, Outlook and DMS
- Is a skilled multi-tasker, who loves staying organized and meeting deadlines
- Brings positivity, optimism, trustworthiness, agility and drive

**Additional Requirements**:

- A police check from your municipal police force is required following acceptance of the position.
