Delta, Canada Toronto Terminals Railway Full time

TTR Conductors work as members of two or three-person train crews and perform duties associated with the movement of trains, rail cars, and locomotives in rail yards. They coordinate the assembly of trains and execute any ground work outside the locomotive cab while in the yard (ex: operating track switches, picking up rail cars, making emergency repairs, etc.).
- Railway persons are members of yard crews, involved with switching cars, making or splitting up trains in yards, or moving cars between yards and customer sidings.
- Carry out specific instructions detailing a train's route and specific movements.
- Handles the switching of cars, including coupling and uncoupling cars and air hoses.
- Operating track switches to change locomotive and rail car routes.
- Inspecting the condition of a train and equipment.
- Observes, interprets, and relays signals and other indications affecting movement of train.
- Signals crew members for movement of the engine or train using specific signals, or radio to indicate when to start, stop, back-up, set or release air brakes.
- Provides flag protection and relays signals to trains in an emergency situation, as stipulated in the operating rules.
- Rides moving car by hanging onto grab irons or ladder.
- Providing and receiving various forms of verbal and printed instructions for the movement of rail cars
- Fills out forms including train Operations logs and switch lists as required clear and legible reports.
- Works irregular hours, holidays, weekends, days and nights.
- Ensuring compliance with all train orders, signals, railroad rules and regulations related to safety.
- Must be constantly alert to changing conditions and take safe and responsible action as required.
- Must be able to meet the Fitness for Duty critical for Safety Critical Positions under the Canadian Railway Medical Rules.
- Must maintain a valid CROR and TDG card.

**Working Conditions and Physical Requirements**
- Working a flexible schedule with regular and predictable attendance, in line with the 24/7 railroading environment (includes night, weekend, holiday work hours).
- Working outdoors in varying weather and environmental conditions.
- Working at two locations - Delta and Vancouver.
- Operating various devices on rail cars and locomotives, such as uncoupling levers and handbrakes.
- Climbing on and off ladders of rail cars and locomotives.
- Grasping and holding objects while riding the side of a train.
- Walking for frequent extended periods.
- Bending, stooping, squatting, and kneeling frequently.

Pay: $88,562.24-$110,563.94 per year
