Line Cook and Prep Cook

Timbers Lodge Social Grill is a community oriented, inclusive restaurant founded in 2020 at York University. Our restaurant aspires to be a gathering place for our community therefore our menus and atmosphere are inspired by the communities we are part of. Our team and our food are a reflection of our neighborhood and our University. We focus on quality fresh food at affordable prices, great drinks that suit your budget and an environment that makes you feel comfortable and at home.
Ultimately, you will ensure all plates are properly cooked and served and our customers have a pleasant dining experience.
**Line Cook Job Responsibilities**:
- Sets up and stocks food items and other necessary supplies.
- Prepares food items by cutting, chopping, mixing, and preparing sauces.
- Cooks food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and complies with food sanitation requirements by properly handling food and ensuring correct storage.
- Cleans and sanitizes cooking surfaces at the end of the shift.
- Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs.
**Line Cook Qualifications/Skills**:
- Basic written and verbal communication skills
- Organizational skills
- Accuracy and speed in executing tasks
- Ability to work as a team member
- Follows directions and instructions
**Education and Experience Requirements**:
- High school diploma or GED
- 3 months to 1 year of experience as a line cook, restaurant cook, or prep cook
- Experience with various cooking methods and procedures
- Familiar with industry best practices
**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: From $16.55 per hour
