In the role of **Diagnostic Technician/Patient Coordinator**, you will help support and be responsible for:

- Performing complete diagnostic testing procedures on patients during the consultation phase.
- Uploading diagnostic imaging to our electronic medical record (EMR) system for review.
- Supporting the use of the ophthalmic lasers with surgeons, as well as inputting surgeon preferences on cataract and refractive surgery days.
- Answering phones and providing information to patients.
- Booking consultations/surgeries including Cataract and Lasik.
- Entering new patient referrals into the EMR database and generating patient charts for consultations and any subsequent appointments as needed.
- Contact patients to remind them of their appointments.
- Manage all scanning and faxing including referrals/ pre and post op forms.
- Filing charts, and pulling charts as required.
- Manage patient intake, ensuring completion of consent forms, processing payments, and issuing receipts.
- Microsoft Excel/ Word
- EMR systems
- Strong communication skills
- Team player

**Education and Experience**:

- High School Diploma from recognized Canadian Secondary Institution required.
- Ophthalmic Technician/Assistant certification from a post-secondary institution preferred, but not mandatory.
- One (1) year of experience in a healthcare facility or medical office required.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
