**Job Description**:
De Beers Group of Companies has an exciting opportunity to offer a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join the Canadian Exploration team based out of the Toronto office. Reporting to the Project Manager, the successful incumbent will be responsible for work on early exploration stage projects and programs. This will involve balancing time spent in the Toronto office and remote field sites. The incumbent may be required to spend extended periods, up to six (6) weeks at a time, in the field, collecting and compiling data, as well as conducting program reporting.
- Promoting and demonstrating the importance of Safety, Health, Environment and Security in the workplace;
- Familiar with hazard identification and risk assessment
- Collecting prospecting and geological data in the field by sampling and mapping;
- Participating in ground and airborne geophysical surveys including Mag, EM and Gravity;
- Under the direction of the Project Manager, supervising sampling, mapping and drilling programs (core, RC & large diameter);
- Core geological logging and geotechnical logging;
- Mapping and interpretation of surficial materials, ice movement and bedrock/structural geology;
- Coordinating field program planning and logístical support;
- Writing reports for internal and assessment purposes;
- Supervising, coaching and mentoring contractors, temporary employees and community help;
- Administrating, managing, analyzing and QA/QC of data;
- Ensuring that all relevant De Beers policies and procedures are followed;
- Managing project related databases.

**Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- BSc in Geology and 3-5 years of work experience, preferably in mineral exploration;
- APGO certification or eligibility for certification;
- Solid written and verbal communication skills combined with strong interpersonal, organizational skills and is self-motivated
- Ability to work at a remote site;
- Proficiency in MS Office software (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Teams);
- Have a valid driver’s license;
- Proficiency with ArcGISPro is a requirement; experience with Geosoft and Gemcom is an asset;
- Experience with glacial /bedrock/structural geology, mineral chemistry, and drift prospecting is an asset;
- A basic understanding of kimberlite petrology, geophysical methods, and mineral exploration is an asset; and
- Training or exposure to project management methods is an asset.
