**Role: Assistant General Manager**
The Assistant General Manager will anticipate the needs and exceed the expectations of guests as well as their employees by achieving profitability and customer service goals all while providing their employees an exceptional place to work. Supporting the General Manager in overseeing hotel operations, they will succeed by demonstrating they have the know-how to deliver on the vision, the mission and foster a creative and inclusive culture.
**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Assist General Manager in managing all aspects of hotel operations
- Establishing and communicating objectives that support and align with corporate’s vision by developing and implementing strategies to do so
- Monitoring operational efficiencies to ensure profitability while meeting operating and capital budgets
- Implementing marketing initiatives that align with hotel branding
- Maximizing revenue per available room through yield management
- Providing staff with skills training to provide value-added service to customers and monitor success of training
- Assist department heads with associate training, coaching and performance management
- Monitoring customer satisfaction ratings and developing plans to maintain or increase customer satisfaction as required
- Attracting, hiring and retaining qualified employees who deliver on key objectives
- Providing leadership and guidance to maintain high morale throughout the hotels
- Communicating daily and weekly with the General Manager
- Ensuring all health and safety standards are exceeded
- Maintaining all month end documentation and providing the accounting department accurate reports
- Lead by example at all times and take a hands-on approach when required to do so.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Experience Required**
- Minimum of 5 years working experience in the hotel industry, demonstrating progression with each career move
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in a leadership capacity
- Previous experience with budgeting and forecasting
- Previous Hilton front desk experience an asset
**Desired Education**
- A Diploma in Hospitality Management or equivalency is required
**WORKING CONDITIONS**:
- May be required to work early morning, late evening and weekend shifts
- This position requires the ability to be flexible with hours of work to respond to urgent matters
- May be required in all areas of the hotel, depending on business levels
**Salary**: From $60,000.00 per year
