The duration of this contract will be approximately 4 months. Applicants are expected to fulfill the entire contract period commencing May 1, 2023 until September 1, 2023

**Position Description**:
Seeking an individual who is interested in working within the community of Norfolk County to promote conservation and proper resource management. These positions are funded by a variety of partners to expose local youth to the diversity of environmentally based career opportunities found across Norfolk.

The successful incumbent will:

- Assist in tree planting; urban tree/woodland inventory; stream restoration; electrofishing; invasive species control; nursery/trail maintenance, and other forestry, urban forestry or natural resource-based duties
- Assist in the watering, pruning, planting, and mulching of young trees on a scheduled basis.
- Work possibility with partner organization in regards to completing natural resource management projects on public and private lands throughout Norfolk County
- Perform daily circle checks on all equipment and reporting defects to the immediate supervisor
- Maintain daily activity log
- Operate a variety of equipment, light duty vehicles, machine and power and hand held tools, (i.e. brush hogs, hand held saws, weed eaters)

**Qualifications**:

- Able to lift 30 lbs to 50 lbs
