**Schedule**:
Casual Shifts - As needed (**Night shifts, Evening shifts, and day shifts**).

**Pay**:
Starting wage is **$27.06** (includes provincial wage subsidy) plus **$1.25** evening shift or **$1.50** night differentials as applicable.

**Position Summary**:
Under the supervision of the Maintenance Manager, with direction from the Resident Services Manager, the Multi-Service Worker (Non-RCA certified) provides assistance with a variety of tasks within the residence and may be assigned primarily in one area based upon operational requirements. The MSW (Non-RCA certified) will be assigned in areas of housekeeping, maintenance, night supervisor, laundry, emergency response, and non-emergent assistance or ELS Services for independent residents. Carries out duties in an efficient, friendly and courteous manner and demonstrates a respectful and caring approach to Berwick residents and staff.

The Night Housekeeper cleans public and staff areas, completes laundry and linen service for residents and kitchen staff, collects garbage and recyclables, and cleans all Berwick soft and hard furnishings. The MSW will also be assigned duties related to maintenance such as supporting the safe maintenance and repair of the building including independent suites, care unit suites, common and staff areas, parkade and grounds. These responsibilities including but not limited to painting, general electrical and plumbing, basic carpentry, grounds clean up, carpet cleaning, building and equipment repairs.

**This position is responsible for “Emergency Response” for the building and its occupants.**

**Qualifications & Skills**:

- Related experience in the housekeeping field with preference given to those with 1-2 years of experience in the hospitality industry
- A minimum of 2 years experience in the field of maintenance and general repairs
- A good working knowledge of and experience in repairs, painting, electrical maintenance, safety, operating a variety of equipment, working with cleaning chemicals and carpet cleaning;
- WHMIS Certification
- Valid Emergency First Aid and CPR with AED training
- Trained in handling emergency situations such as power outages, fire, earthquake and medical emergencies
- Demonstrates a solid understanding of the intent, philosophy, and core values of assisted living when planning and delivering personal service and hospitality services
- Ability to work independently and follow instructions with mínimal supervision
- Ability to read, write, and speak English proficiently and understands verbal and written instructions
- Polite, courteous and must work well with seniors
- Must have knowledge, skills and training on how to manage and respond to potential harassment in the workplace (verbal, physical and sexual).

Note*A criminal record check is required pursuant to the Criminal Records Review Act for working with vulnerable adults. Current TB test also required as well as proof of Covid-19 Vaccination.
