**Post Secondary & Labour Force Development Coordinator**
**SUMMARY**: The Post-Secondary and Labour Force Development Coordinator is directly responsible for all aspects of the Zagimē Anishinabēk Post-Secondary Program and support members interested in workforce training. This position will ensure service delivery is provided by way of financial assistance to eligible Zagimē Anishinabēk members living on and off-reserve while coordinating an adult learning centre.
**DUTIES**:
- Maintain and organize resource material and statistical records.
- Respond to all enquiries and dissemination of information pertaining to the programs.
- Liaise with students/members to collect appropriate monitoring documentation to be placed on file and assist them with any missing documentation.
- Prepare and present a monthly report/enrollment summary to the Education Committee.
- Prepare the annual Post-Secondary and Labour Force Development operating budget and work plan.
- Prepare, present, and obtain approval by the Education Committee and Chief and Council for all student allowance and student program funding.
- Prepare and submit monthly financial paylists and documentation for the Director of Operations approval, to submit for processing.
- Ensure all program policies and procedures are adopted and amended according to the protocol of the First Nations (student ratification, Committee, C&C).
- Ensure the submission of all statistical data reports for Post-Secondary Census Report are completed and submitted in a timely, accurate and efficient manner to the Indian and Northern Affairs of Canada.
- Complete referrals to other education funding and training agencies.
- Assist students/members with identifying their career-oriented goals and guiding them through the process on achieving them.
- Seek viable partnerships and sustainable supports for funding and training initiatives under the Labour Force Development Program.
- Evaluate and report on student/members skills, progress, preparation and courses, while promoting the program and providing guidance and encouragement.
- Maintain an effective working relationship with post-secondary institutions such as universities, technical institutes, community colleges, and professional associations.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- Related post-secondary Certificate/Diploma; or a combination of education/training and experience.
- Experience in an office environment including office procedures, file maintenance, data processing and operating various equipment.
- Knowledge of how a First Nation Post-Secondary Program is operated.
- Knowledge of Labour Force Development
- Must have excellent, proven communication skills in all aspects.
- Must possess the ability to take direction and work with minimum supervision.
- Must be well organized, dependable, reliable, and ensure that confidential matters remain confidential.
- Must possess a valid Driver’s Licence and access to a dependable vehicle.
- Must submit a Pre-employment Substant Test and Criminal Record Check prior to commencement of employment.
