Reporting to the Senior Engineering Technologist, the Transportation Technician assists in the coordination of Municipal right of way related maintenance programs and reviews ongoing programs for updates and modifications.

Duties and responsibilities:

- Assists in overseeing the execution of traffic signal and streetlight maintenance programs
- Tracks traffic signal recoveries to ensure accident damage recoveries are collected
- Liaisons with utility owner’s and contractor for utility installations and repairs
- Assists in providing Municipal Consent review for new utility installations and road occupancy permitting and inspection
- Assists with auditing asset inventories and documents receipt of municipal assets into inventory databases like GIS
- Assists in providing inspection and oversight on various municipal maintenance and construction projects as required
- Investigates and responds to complaints, resident concerns and resolves general inquiries in the roadway network
- assist with conducting neighborhood field studies of traffic management
- prepares technical reports for Council/Committees of Council

- Demonstrated analytical, project/time/records management, report writing, presentation skills and organizational skills.
- Strong ability to interact effectively, tactfully, and courteously with staff, contractors and the general public, while conveying a professional and positive image of the Town.
- Promotes a culture of inclusiveness and work with a diverse population of employees and the general public.
- A valid Ontario class G drivers license in good standing

The position offers a salary range of $40,662 to $50,827 (2023 rates) plus a competitive benefit package.
