Student Assistant, Library

**This posting will be used to fill up to 3 positions**

**Work will occur onsite, with most shifts scheduled during the evenings and weekends.**

**Applicants must express in their cover letter why they would like to work in the Library.**

**Responsibilities**:

- Collecting, sorting, transporting, shelving and shelf reading of Library material.
- Check-in/check-out of Library material from the circulation desk.
- Packing and unpacking of Library material.
- Processing of Library material (security strips, labels, etc.).
- Basic repairs to damaged Library material.
- Photocopying/Scanning.
- Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Must be a full-time student at the Collegiate high school or the University of Winnipeg.
- Basic experience with office procedures would be an asset, although on-the-job training will be provided.
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with all levels of faculty, staff, and students.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions, procedures, and regulations. Good interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer/keyboard skills.
- Ability to work evening and/or weekend shifts.

**An equivalent combination of education, experience, skills, knowledge and abilities may be considered.**

**Condition(s) of Employment**:

- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
- To be eligible for a Student Assistant position you must be a Full-time student. Full-time students shall be defined as a student enrolled in the current academic year in a high school or at the University of Winnipeg in a full-time program of study as defined in the University of Winnipeg General Calendar.
