- The Palace Long Term Care is currently looking to add on a caring, passionate, and enthusiastic _**_Activity Aide _**_to our amazing home family, who can serve our lovely residents, to keep them safe, healthy, and happy. _
- On a daily basis, our Activity Aide will enhance the effective management and quality of recreation practice in keeping with the standards and expectations set out by governing bodies and internal policies and standards of care. - The Palace Long Term Care home is situated in a beautiful small-town Alexandria, which is between Canada’s capital city Ottawa and the most happening city Montreal. **_As an Activity Aide, you will be accountable for _**
- _ Understanding and promoting the Residents Bill of Rights;_
- _ Assisting the Director in developing programs and schedules, including providing creative input and ideas for programs and volunteer recruitment;_
- _ Completing timely, individualized and up to date resident assessments and resident profiles at admission;_
- _ Demonstrating cultural sensitivity in communicating with residents, planning individualized programs and grouping residents of similar backgrounds and interests._

**_ This role is an exceptional opportunity for an energetic, enthusiastic team member with_**
- _ Post-secondary diploma or Degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology or other related field from a community college or university;_
- _ Experience in long term care in developing/ leading programs for residents with varied physical and cognitive ability;_
- _ Knowledge of community resources within the service area and able to relate to them in a professional manner;_
- _ Commitment to ongoing education to meet resident’s needs and legislative requirements;_
- _ Fluently bilingual in English and French;_
- _ Must have strong computer skills and knowledge with technology in programming for virtual or remote communications such as Zoom, Skype, Facetime, using different devices._
