Residential Supervisor

The purpose of the Residential Supervisor position is to implement the Residential Program consistent with the Vision, Mission and Guiding Principles of MHPPSS. This is a high-energy and attention to detail position where the RS plays an active role in ensuring the Residence remains a safe, clean and organized space.
This is a full-time position working on-site in our Residential Program. This is a hybrid position as it entails working alongside our families who reside at our Residence.
The Supervisor works to implement and execute in-house programming meeting the needs of the clients. This role would also support clients to develop a community and network of partners to assist them in addressing personal barriers to independent living, poverty reduction, education and positive parenting with the goal of transitioning young, female-led families into the community with the skills and community to support their wellness and healthy living. This role reports to the Program and Client Care Managers and works closely with the Executive Director.

**Qualifications**:

- College or University diploma in Social Services or a related field
- Knowledge of Attachment, Infant Mental Health, Circle of Security, Signs of Safety, Trauma Informed Care
- Work and/or volunteer experience in assisting women who are pregnant and parenting, struggling with a variety of issues.
- Experience working with the vulnerable sector of the population
- Demonstrated skills in direct service to clientele, in particular with youth and children
- Leadership skills and experience to supervise and support frontline staff and volunteers
- High level of organizational and administrative skills is a key component to this role
- Knowledge of community resources in Guelph and Wellington County an asset

**Responsibilities and Principal Activities**:
**Supervisory**:

- Completes reports and client files as required
- Attends staff meetings as well as the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and other meetings, if needed
- Ensures all documentation, paper or electronic, at the Residence is maintained and stored in accordance with policies and procedures
- Works in a leadership role to staff, students and volunteers
- Meets regularly with Management staff for supervision and training
- Takes part on the on-call rotating schedule, and be available to be onsite within ½ hour as necessary
- Participates in special events and activities for the clients
- Participates in and provides leadership for participation of Residential staff with ongoing fundraising events
- Ensures any documentation, including but not limited to those related to funding are filled out
- Works directly with Primary Workers. Assigns and assists Primary Workers with current clients
- Assists clients for community support services and needs, ensuring a high level of service is provided
- Provides an overview of all clients and their goals within the house, ensuring that client needs are being met
- Works in partnership with the Management staff and Executive Director regarding the intake, admission and orientation process for potential new clients
- Ensures that all client files and database are up to date and accurately maintained
- Participates in monthly Case Management meetings with management staff
- Maintains confidentiality regarding client information
- Other duties as required

**Facility Maintenance**:

- Responsible for over-all cleanliness of the residential building, ensuring the interior and exterior of the facility remains a safe, clean and organized environment
- Works with Facility Manager to ensure all Emergency, Safety Procedures, Codes, Inspections, Licenses and Maintenance are in place and up to date
- Reports any facility deficiencies to the Facility Manager

All work at Michael House Pregnancy & Parenting Support Services requires staff to have read and understood the relevant Program, Health and Safety, Financial and Human Resources policies and procedures.

**Administration**:

- Communicates effectively on an ongoing basis regarding client needs to management team
- Schedules Primary Workers and front-line staff ensuring that the house is always covered
- Ensures a high level of service is provided to clients
- Reports staff concerns or issues to the Management team
- Works collaboratively with other agency programs while supporting Mission, Vision Statements, Guiding Principles and Objectives of Michael House
- Communicates residential needs or issues related to the services provided to clients
- Works with the Program Manager to build knowledge of and relationships with community programs that may benefit client needs
- Helps to create a balance of in-house programming with external, community programming so they complement each other
- Sends weekly residential program updates to the Circle of Care team through The Scoop
- Participates in trainings and education to stay abreast of best
