The Associate Vice President Students (AVPS) will be a prominent leader and senior administrator responsible for providing leadership, insight, innovation, and accountability in a student support ecosystem that has a variety of student support service areas. The AVPS will play a critical role in the cohesive management and integration of diverse student experiences, will advocate for students and foster relationships to support the students’ voice in college decisions which impact student success.

The AVPS is responsible for a comprehensive portfolio dedicated to fostering student success and fulfilling the College’s strategic commitments to Indigenization and decolonization; equity, diversity, and inclusion; student-centered education; academic excellence; civic leadership, and community engagement. The incumbent will oversee services in International, the Learning Commons & Academic Success Center, and Student Services. As a newly created position at the College of New Caledonia position, this role will support the development of effective systems and services to support students, while expertly employing change management skills.

Reporting directly to the Vice President Student Affairs, the AVPS will cultivate and coordinate institutional structures and programs designed to help all students become intentional in their learning, engaged in their college experience, and be successful in their chosen fields. Alongside the Vice-President Student Affairs, the AVPS will lead and integrate robust holistic student support, services and programming model for all of CNC’s six campuses.

As an important member of the CNC’s Senior Leadership team, the AVPS will collaborate with colleagues on the development of college-wide policies, short and long-term strategic plans, budgetary accountability structures, and campus initiatives.

The AVPS will work to ensure the advancement of College’s mission, vision, values and goals, with a commitment to the success of students, staff, faculty, and the community. The incumbent will guide, lead, and implement comprehensive enrolment management, retention, and student success strategies, as well as strategic enrolment strategies for international student diversification. Leadership reporting to this position includes the Directors of International, Learning Commons & Academic Success Center, and Student Services.

**NATURE** & **SCOPE**:
The AVPS is specifically responsible for accountability, budgeting, coordination, development, management, and strategic planning in the following student support service areas:

- **Internationa**l: agent management; student networking; international partnerships and projects; international plan implementation; strategic enrolment management student diversity strategy development and implementation, and international enrolment planning and management.
- **Learning Commons and Academic Success Center**: student accessibility services; provincial accessibility legislation development; testing and tutoring services; librarian services, and student learning spaces.
- **Student Services**: student conduct; student policy development and implementation; student life and housing; recreation services; student academic and career advising; financial aid & awards; student retention and first year experiences; SEM student experience strategy development, and Health Center and wellness supports.
- In addition to the existing departments and functions within the portfolio, additional development of new partnerships, relationships, and initiatives within the College’s strategic priorities, such as and not limited to: strategic enrolment management (SEM); equity, diversity, inclusion & belonging (EDIB); truth & reconciliation commission (TRC); service component of the redevelopment of regional campuses; automated and digital services; a high school transitions strategy, and student health and wellness strategy.
- The incumbent will be part of a team actively engaged in contributing to and accomplishing the vision, mission, and goals of the College and in supporting the aspirations and needs of our learners.
- The incumbent will promote a positive work atmosphere by interacting and communicating in a professional manner that demonstrates mutual respect with students and colleagues.
