**About the role**

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our small, driven, Data Collection team. As the Data Collection Lead, you will be responsible for coordinating internal field teams and executing field operations as we collect 3 layers of data (with the use of drones and other platforms), on infrastructure assets around the world. Working closely with our third-party data collection partners and clients, your role will be to oversee the planning and execution of successful operations and strengthen relationships with these stakeholders. You will also be working closely with our Geospatial and Acoustic team members to ensure that the data meets specified standards for our analytics teams. Outside of the field, you will be responsible for managing upcoming projects and directing research and development initiatives as they relates to building workflows and processes that will allow Niricson to scale our operational capacity. You will also support the Acoustic team in testing and iterating our proprietary non-destructive testing sensor. An ability to communicate and collaborate with both internal teams and external stakeholders is required.

**Responsibilities**:

- Coordinate and execute field drone operations, supporting our third-party data collection partners and/or clients in collecting data.
- Collaborating with internal teams to aid in the development of equipment and software.
- Strengthen relationships with clients and other external stakeholders (drone service providers).
- Operate as team "CEO" by leading internal operations for Data Collection.
- Traveling up to 50% of the time to support field operations (traveling time is expected to decrease as Niricson scales and grows its team)

**Required Qualifications/Components**
- Degree/diploma in GIS, Remote Sensing, Surveying, and/or Civil Engineering **OR** equivalent through career experience.
- 1-2+ years’ experience in field drone operations related to the above industries.
- Strong management and interpersonal skills, specifically experience in managing a team.
- Ability to balance and prioritize responsibilities, aligning the goals of the team with the goals of the company.
- Willingness to work independently and be a self-starter.
- Passionate about novel technology and have a strong desire to improve operational processes at scale.
- Strong critical thinking and emotional awareness skills.
- Proven work experience in project management.
- Proven experience with client-facing positions, and a passion for managing these relationships.
- Extensive experience collecting data and processing using photogrammetry software.

**Preference may be given to applicants with the following**:

- Project management and team lead experience.
- Experience troubleshooting drone technology using open-source information.
- Experience in surveying and a strong understanding of coordinate systems.
- Experience with UAV-based infrastructure inspections.
- Demonstrate enthusiasm and energy towards drone technology and other various data collection methods.
- Passion for photography with experience in optimizing camera settings for differing environments.
- Experience and passion for interacting with external stakeholders and clients.
