**Position**:Intake Worker (Settlement) - Bilingual English & French
**Term**:Part-time - 21 hours per week (May 2023 - Indefinite)
**Reports to**:Manager ofSettlement and Integration Program
**Location**: 959 Wellington St. W

**General Accountability**
The Intake Worker promotes the settlement and integration of immigrants and refugees through the provision of initial settlement services to individuals and groups. The service approach incorporates cultural considerations and an awareness of migration experiences. The Intake Worker promotes the principles, policies and practices of equity, access and inclusion.
**Specific Accountabilities**
- Conduct brief intake interviews with clients to assess their needs.
- Enter accurate client information in the database system.
- Maintain required statistics and records by entering them daily/weekly in the database system.
- Refer clients to settlement counsellors based on identified needs.
- Support the Receptionist during breaks, lunch and other times as needed.
- Participating in training and professional development opportunities to stay up-to-date with the latest settlement trends and best practices.
- Provide information regarding OCISO services to potential referral sources, other service providers and the community, as requested.
- Demonstrate a commitment to OCISO’s culture of respect management approach and anti-racism/anti oppression policy within the work environment and in the community.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Program Manager.
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor degree or college diploma in social work or social sciences, and three years related work experience.
- Familiarity with issues related to the settlement and integration of immigrants and refugees.
- Highly developed verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to communicate with a broad range of stakeholders including community representatives.
- Effective interpersonal, organizational and cross-cultural communication, negotiation, public relations and public speaking skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary and multicultural team environment.
- Fluently bilingual in French and English - essential, additional languages are an asset.
**Salary & Benefits**:
$30,857 - $31,199 annually. Comprehensive benefits plan including health, dental, an RRSP plan and a generous leave entitlement.
