**Position**:Mental Health Outreach Worker - Facilitator
**Start Date**: Full-time, 35 hours per week, June 2023 - indefinite

**Position Summary**
Mental Health Outreach Worker - Facilitator is responsible for the development and implementation of mental health and wellbeing workshops and supports for newcomers to Canada. The program aims to develop and deliver culturally responsive workshops to promote mental health and wellbeing which will include activities that address migration stressors, reducing stigma, and promoting peer support to newcomer students, teachers and parents.
The Mental Health Outreach Worker - Facilitator ensures that the program uses a trauma informed approach and the tenets of equity, access and anti-racism/anti-oppression. The individual is also responsible for conducting intake, assessment and referral to other OCISO services or other agencies. As an Outreach Worker, the individual will promote intra-agency cooperation, coordination, and communication.
**Main Responsibilities**
- Provides one-on-one intake and assessment for short term counselling or other mental health services and manages waitlist
- Provide referrals to other OCISO services or those of other agencies as needed
- Following OCISOs direction, creates, and/ or delivers workshops on mental health and mental wellness topics
- Ensures that the program uses a trauma informed approach and the tenets of equity, access and anti-racism / anti-oppression
- Ensures that workshops are developed with input from MLO’s, Settlement and Counselling programs, and a list of topics be compiled that address client needs
- Work with MLO, Settlement and Counselling to identify and recruit participants and interpreters if required
- Follow-up with clients on client progress and tracking after service delivery
- Enters information into centralized profile tracking system and database for purposes of detailed activities and outcomes tracking and reporting
- Contributes to reports and other publication requiring data and testimonials
- Participate in outreach activities when required, and promotes intra-agency cooperation, coordination and communication
- Promotes the OCISO mission and values in all actions
- Demonstrates commitment to OCISO’s culture of respect management approach and anti-racism / anti-oppression policy within the work environment and the community
- Supports all aspects of OCISO’s work in interactions with potential funding sources, other community service providers, clients and the public
- Ensures confidentiality and safe handling and storage of client data and files
- Provides support and problem-solving assistance to clients and staff as needed
- Participates in internal committees and working groups as required

**Qualifications**:
- **Education and Work Experience**_
- University degree or college diploma or post secondary education in social science or administration
- Proven skills in workshop development and facilitation
- Familiarity with mental health and wellness supports
- Understanding of the issues faced by immigrants and refugees
- Experience and proven ability working in a multi-disciplinary, multicultural work environment
- Knowledge and experience in solving-problem techniques
- Experience working in a non-profit organization
- Experience dealing with a volunteer workforce is an asset
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, meeting tight deadlines and with mínimal supervision
- Excellent verbal and written knowledge of English, additional languages an asset

- Excellent presentation and group facilitation skills
- Knowledge of issues and trends impacting area of professional responsibility
- Excellent knowledge of community resources
**Salary & Benefits**: $52,780 - $55,291 annually. Comprehensive benefits plan including health, dental, RRSP plan, and generous leave entitlement.
