**Job Summary**:
Envision Mind Care is looking for an enthusiastic and dependable Addiction & Mental Health Support Worker to join our fast-growing team in Edmonton. We are seeking an adaptable individual with strong interpersonal & facilitation skills to play a pivotal role in our innovative 4 week In-patient Addictions Treatment Program.

The primary responsibility of the Addiction & Mental Health Support Worker is to assist in administering programming activities in accordance with clients’ schedule and provide timely therapeutic support as needed to individuals engaged in our program who are in recovery from various forms of addiction. The Addiction & Mental Health Support Worker will act as a source of general administrative & task support to clinical staff; motivation, guidance and instruction to clients, and will at all times act in a manner that encourages client’s cooperation & participation in treatment and healing, while ensuring client safety, and upholding the integrity and continuity of client care.

**Key Responsibilities**:
**1. Residential and Client Supports**
- Prepare and facilitate recreational & therapeutic programming activities for clients as per weekly schedule provided. Evaluate and report client’s level of participation and any other relevant observations to the appropriate staff as needed.
- Prompt clients to attend their scheduled programming activities as needed.
- Maintain professional conduct, boundaries and ethical standards at all times.
- Maintain inventory of facility supplies for clients (toilet paper, personal hygiene products, towels).
- Provide coaching and person-centered support to clients as needed.
- Assist with facility supervision and safety monitoring of clients.
- Conduct regular welfare checks on clients, i.e. mental health, behavioral, physical, emotional etc. throughout program.
- Collaborate with Envision Mind Care clinical staff regarding client progress and performance within the in-patient program. Provide observations to clinical team to assist with treatment and aftercare planning adjustments.
- Assist with providing crisis support as required.

**2. Documentation**:

- Maintain timely, detailed and accurate records of all incidents, client encounters, and observations using the Envision Mind Care approved format.
- Complete additional administrative tasks as assigned.

**3. Professional Development**
- Participate cooperatively in the Envision Mind Care employee performance management and evaluation process.
- Maintain a working knowledge of current legislation and provincial policies regarding patient care best practices.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and mandatory training as assigned.
- Actively engage and participate in the Envision Mind Care supervisory process.

**4. Other Duties**
- Participate in daily shift-change handover meetings with relevant incoming staff members. Ensure timely, relevant and accurate updates are provided to incoming shift staff.
- Participate in regular team meetings and staff meetings as required.
- Other duties may be assigned dependent on need.

**Education & Training**:
**1. Qualifications**:

- Certificate in **Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training** (ASIST) preferred; or alternatively a certificate in **Mental Health First Aid** (MHFA).
- Certificate in **Non-Violent Crisis Intervention** (NVCI).
- Up-to-date certification in **First Aid/Basic Life Support/Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation** (BLS/CPR).
- Certification in **Trauma-Informed Care** practices (TIC) preferred.

**2. Related & Relevant Experience**:

- Minimum one year of clinical experience in the delivery of residential or community supports to clients, especially within the mental health or addiction services sector (preferred).
- Demonstrated ability to work independently when needed without immediate access to a supervisor.
- Demonstrated ability to engage clients in social &/or individual recreational activities.
- Demonstrated ability to manage challenging behaviour.
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

**3. Additional Requirements**:
a. Satisfactory police records search and vulnerable sector screening.
