**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Under the direction of the Bookstore Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for all activities related to shipping and receiving in the Oshawa campus bookstore.
- Receives incoming freight, oversees the opening, verification of content and quantity. Updates all receiving records and liaises with vendors to ensure accurate costing is applied to all incoming products. Maintains warehouse inventory records and monitors time sensitive deadlines with regards to returns of unsold merchandise. Engages in correspondences with departments and vendors on discrepancies in shipments, pricing issues and transportation costs.
- Organize and create returns worksheets for both campus stores to ensure vendor guidelines are met. Ensure proper documentation enclosed and recorded for tracking purposes.
- Supervises work study staff assigned to the shipping/receiving area related to the campus bookstore. Assigns tasks, monitors and trains existing and new staff on procedures and follows up on work results to ensure comprehension and completion.
- Assist with organizing yearly inventory process in shipping/receiving area.
- Responsible for frequent heavy lifting of book, clothing, supply boxes, display units and skidding material up to fifty pounds in weight.
- Other duties as assigned may include, but not be limited to, requesting missing invoices from suppliers, completing weekly backorder reports for outstanding orders for purchaser to review, coding invoices for payment.
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Minimum of a 2 year diploma in Business, Commerce, Finance, Accounting or Management Studies, Operations or related studies.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a shipping/receiving environment. Knowledge of Bookware system an asset.
- Able to lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook and Excel.
- High attention to detail and strong ability to communicate verbally and in writing with staff and students alike.

Hours: 35 hours per week (1) one hour lunch; Mon - Thurs 10 am - 6 pm and Friday 8 am - 4pm
