**Salary**: $69,599 - $83,191

This position is in compliance with Board policies and procedures, reporting to the Associate Manager of Building Systems, the position will provide comprehensive including but not limited to building automation, fire, security and CCTV system(s) support and administration in accordance with Board policies & procedures, and relevant regulations, codes and best practices.

**Major Responsibilities**:
To troubleshoot, and facilitate repair of, building systems and their operations.

To track and verify satisfactory completion of system repairs.

To assist with provision and monitoring of security and user access on supported systems.

To adjust building automation systems to meet identified standards and needs.

To optimize BAS/HVAC efficiencies to maximize building energy performance while meeting legislative requirements and maintaining client comfort.

To provide support to the annual inspection services for building systems by assisting with RFP development, contract adherence, addressing problems encountered, and vendor/Plant communications.

To assist with specification management for building systems.

To assist with design specification review for new projects, building additions and modifications.

To assist with the maintenance of the Building System(s) inventories and databases.

To liaise with building system suppliers, installers and end users in our schools.

To provide training & operational support as required.

To provide emergency support after hours in the event of significant power/systeM/Facility failures.

To assist with monitoring expenses related to system repair and utility usage.

To analyze patterns related to system repairs and utility usage, and make recommendations for future enhancements.

To support environmental initiatives related to building systems such as, but not limited to, green energies.

To perform other duties as assigned.

**Line of Responsibility**:
Responsible to the Associate Manager, Building Systems.

**Education, Experience, and Qualifications**:
A three year college diploma in a related field (i.e. engineering/building environmental sciences, energy systems, HVAC etc.) and a minimum five years related experience is required.

Demonstrated experience in building operations and maintenance including but not limited to: troubleshooting, installing and programming of related equipment (building automation controls, air handling units, variable speed drives, hot water boilers, chillers and cooling towers, heat recovery equipment, as well as fire, security and CCTV system(s)) is required.

Ability to develop & implement energy saving measures without compromising quality environment is required.

Effective verbal and written communication, interpersonal and computer skills including DDC system, building automation and controls and a good knowledge of ventilation, heating and air conditioning systems are required.

Ability to deal effectively with a variety of individuals and groups both within and outside the Board is required.

Available to work days (Monday-Friday), and able to respond as required to after-hour emergencies as well as work occasional off hour shifts is required.

Must possess a valid Ontario Driver’s License and have access to own transportation.
