Job Summary:
The Pre-Production Technician is primarily responsible for ensuring that every order that leaves the department is 100% ready with accurate and up-to-date production information ready for processing. Develop strong customer relations by ensuring that time-sensitive jobs are delivered in an appropriate manner.

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:

- DATA ENTRY: _
- Editing_
- Ensure all Rx orders are entered properly into DVI through accurate, consistent and efficient editing procedures. Allocate and scan orders to the proper areas once completed.
- Receive all orders that have been traced, provide accurate post-edit verification, and forward orders to proper areas once completed.
- Ensure that breakage levels in pre-production and tracing/reprocessing meet standards by communication of repetitive errors found to management
- Competently enters work orders into DVI, processes all types of redo, credits, add notes, cancel jobs, tray change, account changes, etc.
- Trouble shoots basic problems (cut out issues, coating incompatibility, thickness or base curve requirements
- Sort incoming work, identifying new orders, frames to follow, third party coating work, RX or stock credits.
- Receive frames for work in process (FMTC) into DVI system, accurately matching to the correct order, and label accordingly
- DVI_
- Enter lens information into DVI Software
- Enter/modify pick list/surface lens information.
- Expedite_
- Identify time sensitive jobs/orders and work to ensure that they are escalated through the manufacturing process.
- Reay information back to the Customer or Customer Care team out the status of time sensitive jobs.
- Tracing frames: _
- Calibrating tracers every morning and afternoon.
- Inspect frames for any defect or broken parts.
- Trace frames using tracers and record in the system.
- Copy shape from patterns database to appropriate job.
- Ensure that all frames are traced with correct sizes and shape.
- Troubleshooting for orders with tracing issues.
- Oversee the tracing department to ensure all frames are traced by end of day.
- All of the tasks above, plus any other tasks as specified by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

- High school graduate is the minimum education requirement.
- Must be able to work in a fast paced high volume environment.
- Keen attention to details, fast accurate use of computers and data entry.
- Must be able to handle repetitive tasks while maintaining consistency, accuracy and efficiency.
- Experience that requires alpha-numerical recognition, interpretation and execution is an asset.
- Must be well organized, have excellent time management and multi-tasking abilities, and have a heightened sense of urgency.
- Continuous learning is a large part of this position, and therefore ability to retain varying degrees of information is required (significant use of memory)
- Must have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written).
- Must be able to work in a team atmosphere as well as an individual with mínimal supervision.
- Standing, walking, reaching and bending constantly throughout the day.
- Must be able to lift approximately 25 lbs.
