The Opportunity

The Procurement & Vendor Management team is accountable for managing third party relationships and engagements, including strategy development, vendor selection and contract negotiations as well as vendor and contract management. We are excited to be undergoing our Procurement and Vendor Management Modernization initiative to simplify and streamline the procurement process, including redefining the strategy and implementing new technology.
In the role of Manager, Procurement, you will be accountable for managing and optimizing the relationships and performance of key assigned vendors in the Corporate Services, HR, Real Estate and Marketing space, as well as supporting aspects of the Procurement and Vendor Management modernization program. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to develop and foster mutually beneficial relationships starting from business needs all the way to the vendor selection and governance.
As an individual contributor, you will be responsible for adherence to vendor management lifecycle while identifying areas to improve cost efficiencies, reduce operational risks and leverage strategic partnerships.

About the Role
- Lead vendor engagement requests from lines of business to understand business needs, strategies and objectives that align procurement deliverables to meet Symcor’s Procurement and Vendor Management policies
- Lead cross-functional teams to execute sourcing initiatives and contracting efforts
- Determine sourcing strategy, conduct analysis, and drive vendor negotiations
- Execute and manage vendor pre-qualification, onboarding, maintenance, and ongoing performance assessment
- Develop and manage a vendor performance management program for key suppliers
- Develop vendor KPIs and scorecards to track performance against contracts and agreements with emphasis on performance, risk assessment and spend progress against contractual obligations
- Monitor and report on the performance of key suppliers to ensure alignment with contractual obligations and performance metrics
- Foster positive business relationships and process improvement initiatives with key suppliers
- Analyze and report on trends and make recommendations for improvement
- Manage external communications with vendors to facilitate understanding and awareness of organizational direction, changes, and challenges
- Troubleshoot all vendor problems and present to management as required
- Manage the entire contract life cycle including onboarding, authoring, review, circulation, approval, and renewals
- Maintain currency in reporting and administration of the assigned vendor portfolio
- Assist in the development of policies, standard operating procedures, and templates regarding vendor performance management
- Provide guidance and insight on procurement best practices and provide counsel to lines of business to ensure all vendor engagements meet Symcor policies, client, and regulatory requirements

What You Need To Succeed

**Education**:

- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, information systems, or a related discipline is required.

**Experience**:

- Minimum 6-8 years of experience in Procurement and Vendor Management functions
- Procurement experience in the areas of consulting, temporary staffing, HR, marketing, real estate
- Experience in working with procurement and sourcing systems such as Coupa, Ariba, Oracle, etc.

**Skills**:

- Excellent verbal/ written communication, negotiation and presentation skills
- Outstanding teamwork skills with a can-do attitude, are an absolute must
- Ability to work with all levels of management
- A proactive drive to take on tasks and duties as assigned
- Excellent multi-tasking skills and ability to handle workload efficiently
- Solid prioritization and time management skills
