**Position Summary**:
Reporting to the Director, Teaching and Learning and working closely with the Centre for Learning & Teaching (CLT) leadership team, the Evaluation and Communications Specialist develops and implements program monitoring and evaluation processes across Centre programs and portfolio areas and supports related knowledge dissemination and communication activities. The Specialist collaborates with administrative staff to create data management systems and prepares and disseminates data summaries and reports to support evidence-informed decision making, program development and reporting. The Specialist also develops, plans and implements strategic communications activities that disseminate promising practices in education and showcase the Centre’s impact on the teaching and learning environment and student experience at OCAD University (OCAD U). This position is eligible for hybrid work arrangements with flexibility to work on campus as required.

The Evaluation and Communications Specialist works within the Centre for Learning & Teaching (CLT) as part of a larger team delivering a range of programs and services for faculty, students, teaching assistants and other instructional staff. Together, they collaborate with the university community to provide leadership and support that creates and sustains equitable and engaging teaching and learning environments for all OCAD University students.

**Summary of Responsibilities**:

- Evaluation Activities:_
- In consultation with the Director and working closely with the management team, develop and lead the implementation of a comprehensive program monitoring and evaluation plan across Centre programs; prepare resource materials to support effective implementation and standardized data collection and storage procedures
- Liaise with the Office of Institutional Analysis & Budget Planning and the Office of the Registrar to identify and gather routine data to support program evaluation activities
- Liaise with and build sustained relationships with stakeholders across the University to promote collaboration and strengthen inter-departmental communication
- Establish a regularized reporting cycle and prepare and disseminate data summaries and reports to support evidence-informed program development and decision-making and fulfill Centre reporting requirements (e.g., Strategic Mandate Agreement, institutional scorecards, Senate reports)
- Organize knowledge dissemination activities to share promising practices and promote a culture of critically reflective practice within the Centre and across the University
- Support evaluation-related special projects and consult on the development of evaluation and data gathering tools and practices in other program areas, as required
- Conduct related research (e.g., literature searches) to support centre-wide evaluation, reporting and communication projects
- Student Feedback on Courses (SFC) Project Coordination:_
- Coordinate the regular implementation of Student Feedback on Courses (SFC), the University’s student course evaluation initiative, including all internal communications with students and faculty, project set up and execution, and generating reports for faculty and academic leadership; support the institutional review of SFC and coordinate the implementation of review recommendations
- Collaborate with relevant staff to prepare and distribute resources that support faculty engagement with SFC and that facilitate reflective teaching practice and the widespread adoption of formative and summative assessment practices in teaching
- External Communications Strategies:_
- Oversee and coordinate centre-wide external communications strategies; establish and implement workflows, timelines and communication channels, liaising with relevant staff to gather necessary content
- Liaise with Marketing & Communications to respond to information requests and coordinate and prepare news stories and other strategic communications
- Lead the coordination and preparation of an annual report for the Centre; establish and implement workflows and timelines, liaising with relevant staff to gather necessary content
