Drillers are the front-line supervisors at the rig site. They are responsible for ensuring that proper training, safe work practices, and safe operation of the drilling rig are being adhered to. Drillers operate and monitor the essential systems of the drilling rig including hoisting, well control, mud and power systems. Safety is priority for all drilling rig personnel.

**Essential Duties and Responsibilities**
- Supervise rig crews and the operation of drilling equipment, ensuring they work safely and efficiently
- Report directly to Rig Manager
- Operate the drawworks, rotary equipment, pumps, and supervise the assembly of drill string
- Continuously monitor that safety and support equipment is functioning properly while ensuring proper usage of this equipment
- Monitor the progress of drilling operations and communicate advancements / changes to Rig Manager & Well-Site Supervisor(s)
- Maintain an up-to-date record of drilling progress, and ensure all appropriate paperwork is completed and maintained
- Ensure the rig crew is thoroughly trained in their roles and responsibilities, and their performance consistently meets all safety standards
- Responsible for conducting evacuation drills for BOP, firefighting, spill response, H2S, Egress System, Man Down, Confined Space, High Angle Rescue,and other critical conditions that may arise
- Acquire and adhere to all Company safety policies, procedures, practices, and Government safety regulations and legislation
- Participate in the supervision of rig mobilization and de-mobilization
- Lead by example to fellow employees by adhering to all safe work practices and policies.

**Minimum Requirements**
- Minimum 18 years of age and legally eligible to work in Canada
- Minimum valid class 5 driver's licence and a reliable means of transportation to get to and from the rig location
- Minimum 1 years experience as an AC Drive Joystick Triple with Top Drive Driller
- Be prepared with PPE (hard hat, steel-toed boots, coveralls, safety glasses, gloves)
- Valid industry training certificates including, but not limited to:
1. Energy Safety Canada/Enform First Line Blowout Prevention Certificate

2. Energy Safety Canada/Enform H2S Alive Certificate

3. eGSO, PST, CSO Certificate or equivalent

4. Energy Safety Canada/Enform Fall Protection for Rig Work Certificate

5. Energy Safety Canada/Enform Fall Rescue for Rig Work Certificate

6. Confined Space Entry and Rescue Certificate

7. ABSA Special Oilwell Certificate

8. Oilfield Loader Operator Certificate

9. Standard First Aid/CPR Certificate

10. TDG Certificate
