**The Role**:
**You will**:

- Act as the primary point of contact for the UK Internal Controls and Audit team, leading strategy planning and assessing work priorities.
- Coordinate quarterly risk assessments of the CPEL business and provide updates to HQ, with annual reporting to the CPEL Board.
- Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships effectively.
- Provide guidance and quality control to the Audit Team Lead in developing the Audit Annual Plan, reporting and presenting the plan to the management team.
- Lead or assist in planned audits (Joint Venture, Contract, or Internal Audits) as necessary.
- Communicate, consolidate, and track timely remedial actions for historical audit findings and internal control checks.
- Review internal Control and SOX Assessments before reporting to HQ and statutory auditors on control statuses.
- Support the Internal Controls team by participating in Annual SOX Testing and ensuring recommended process improvements from Internal Audit reviews are implemented in SOX/business controls.
- Support process improvements within UKMS/CIMS.
- Aid business functions on ad hoc requests and to Finance on various matters.
- Support Supply Chain Management with risk analysis of vendors.
- Prepare various reporting requirements for the UK Leadership Team, CPEL Board, and HQ Audit functions.
- Foster collaboration across the organization, acting as a role model for teamwork, problem-solving, knowledge sharing, and networking.
- Identify and facilitate opportunities for people development through work placements and formal interventions, demonstrating a commitment to lifelong learning.
- Manage people processes effectively, encouraging engagement and timely delivery of outputs while challenging non-compliance.

**Who are we looking for?**:

- Someone with strong business understanding of the North Sea upstream oil and gas industry, including knowledge of key players, assets, and operations.
- Demonstrable experience in audit and internal controls within the upstream oil and gas sector.
- Proven track record of designing, planning, and implementing audit programs in commercial environments.
- Possess an analytical mindset with well-developed investigative and analytical skills.
- Ability to thrive under pressure and consistently deliver timely results.
- Solid grasp of UK industry regulations, particularly those pertaining to audit interventions.
- Highly effective relationship builder, both internally and externally, with a results-oriented approach.
- Experience in a supervisory role or leading project teams would be advantageous.

**At a minimum you will have**:

- Qualified Accountant with ACA, ACCA, or CIMA certification.
- Possession of a Chartered Internal Auditor qualification is considered a valuable asset.
- Proficient understanding and hands-on experience with SAP.
