**The Role**:
The C&I TA will interface with several functions including Onshore & Offshore Operations, Facilities Engineering, Maintenance & Integrity, Drilling & Completions, Supply Chain, Decommissioning, Information Technology etc. to ensure connection and alignment with the overall business strategy and objectives. The TA will provide valued advice which may also include, at times, the need to challenge proposed strategies or solutions. This challenge function will be exercised in a tactful and diplomatic way, to maintain a constructive relationship between all parties.

**Responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to**:

- Performance standards for safety & environmental critical elements (SECEs), setting performance criteria for SECEs and technical standards for both safety & environmental critical and non-safety & environmental critical systems within their discipline
- Delegating appropriate decisions to competent personnel who understand the technical decisions they can make.
- Visible technical leadership in their discipline demonstrated through offshore assessments of the SECE barriers in their remit

The TA’s responsibilities are wide ranging and span the following areas:

- Procedures, Technical Standards & Specifications
- Deviations & Technical Queries
- Category 1 (CAT1) Documentation
- Management of Risks Associated with Major Accident Hazards
- Assurance Implementation
- Non-Standard Operations

The TA position also has a specific responsibility for the following:

- Technical Authority ownership of the telecommunication systems offshore
- Ownership of the Management and Control of Overrides (MCO) procedure
- Providing assurance and challenge at the monthly asset override review meetings
- Ownership of the Management of small-bore tubing standard
- Ownership of the Software Management of Change standard
- CNOOC NIS Responsible Officer - (Network Information Systems (NIS) Regulations 2018)

**Who are we looking for?**:
Being familiar with UK industry regulations relating to the oil and gas industry is essential, and you’ll be experienced in working with HSE, BEIS and industry workgroups.

Having the ability to build working relationships at all levels, internally and externally, is a mandatory requirement. You’ll be an effective communicator both written and verbally.

**As a minimum, you have**:

- Chartered Engineer (accredited with IET or Institute of Measurement and Control)
- A proven track record in Instrumentation & Controls
