**Project Director, Feminist Focused One Health Partnerships**:
The Feminist Focused One Health Community Partnership (FFOHCP) Project involves team members from Canada,, Uganda, Ethiopia, and Ghana. The ultimate goal is to improve community health and equitable One Health empowerment for poor, marginalized rural smallholder farms, especially women and girls and female headed households, with high prevalence of zoonotic and human - animal - environment interface related diseases. The partnership includes students, faculty, women, men, children, domestic and international non-governmental agencies, and governments.

**Primary Purpose**: The Project Director, herein referred to as the Director, is charged with guiding, overseeing and integrating the work of the Canadian, Ugandan, Ghanian, and Ethiopian teams along with the various pillars of the FF1HCP project; the accountability framework; the management of the political dynamics; and the multi-country communication strategy. The Project includes many interested parties, different voices, different access to power, and different advocates in human health, animal health, environmental health, and gender transformation. The Director will interact with each country’s political leadership and networks. The Director is ultimately responsible for compliance and the oversight of project activities which will meet the stated objectives of the project.

**Nature of Work**: This position reports to the PI, Associate Dean of Research and Dean of the WCVM. The Project Director also regularly updates the Project Governance team, as well as consults and collaborates with the Governance team on decision making on issues that affect the vision and outcomes of the project.

The work is diverse, requiring knowledge of development activities, project management and quality improvement. This position will play a key role in the oversight and communication around implementation and subsequent project activities. To be successful, the individual must exercise sound judgment, be comfortable in a team environment, and have well-developed communication and leadership skills.

The Director will be responsible for:

- overseeing the management of the Global Affairs Canada (GAC) funded FF1HCP Project, and providing technical leadership;
- oversee the work of the country project managers;
- oversee the gender evaluation, and ensure project quality and harmony with Canada’s Feminist International Assistance Policy (FIAP);
- oversee the coordination of the pandemic preparedness related training and exercises;
- oversee the effective financial and operational management of the project and work closely with the Project Officer and project managers (PMs) from, Ghana, Uganda and Ethiopia;
- act as the primary focal point and represent the project to GAC and other key stakeholders in Canada.

**Accountabilities**:
Project Implementation and Monitoring
- Lead the implementation of high-quality project activities in line with grant agreement and GAC / University of Saskatchewan technical and operational requirements;
- lead the Project team through planning, executing, and monitoring of the implementation to project delivery;
- Ensure that implementation is accelerated and on track and in line with approved budget and required quality;
- In coordination with GAC / University of Saskatchewan, continually reflect on the extent to which implementation of activities and outputs will lead to the achievement of desired outcomes and make necessary adjustments;
- Conduct planning meetings with key project subawardee partners, while ensuring adequate planning documents are established and maintained;
- With the PMs ensure that activities are appropriately planned, that delays and constraints are documented, and solutions identified;
- Oversee timely expenditure of approved budgets, ensuring appropriate spend and proper and effective use of project resources;
- Communicate with the PMs on the overall progress of implementation and general work plan, as well as all the key risks and mitigation measures;
- Provide technical and managerial guidance/support identifying issues that need timely action and support at different levels;
- Flag and discuss key challenges, incidents, and divergence from the donor-approved plans in a timely manner.
- Oversee the transition from implementation planning to the project execution and oversee the progress made and milestones reached;
- Initiate actions required to achieve success, monitor progress between meetings, and assess progress;
- Effectively communicate to all partners and oversee the implementation to work transition. Discuss the goals, scope and expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion;
- Communicate transition timelines and obtain “buy-in” from Partners, and various other stakeholders;
- Oversee and review deliverables;
- Communicate with stakeholders to understand current realities, help design future work plans build
