**Our expectations**:
This role is part of the new Assortment Planning team tasked with leading the development of assortment-focused processes and tools, leveraging leading business and technology practices to drive market share growth and relevant assortment strategies that are operationally effective. Reporting to the Director Floor, Space & Assortment Planning, the incumbent will work closely with the merchandising team to support the PLR process (Product Line Review) and other cross-functional teams to establish assortment planning best practices.

**Your role**:

- Lead the design or improvement of processes involved in the Product Line Review, including understanding business requirements, researching best practices, and creating documentation and training.
- Collaborate with the Merchandising Director and VP on the Product Line Review (PLR). Aid in final product selection and communicate to all appropriate levels
- Work closely with Different Team, Marketing, Online, Finance, Pricing, Space, Pro, Operation, Field Team, etc, by exchanging on PLR and recommending plans and approach to help maximizing Sales
- Financial knowledge needed to analyze, generate, discuss, review and recommend solution to increase results.
- Assist and recommend in negotiation with vendors promotional funding and PLR negotiation
- Provide recommendation to Merch team for vendor meetings to discuss existing or new product issues as well as product line review
- Manage medium
- to large-scale category projects.
- Execute ad hoc analytics to support category management deep-dives for assigned division.
- Capture key learnings to identify opportunities for improvements based on results.
- Collect best practices for each banner, by department, customer type and geography.
- Create dashboard and/or reports for stakeholders and senior leadership.
- Support cross-functional/business integration of changes and new ways of working.
- Mentor and coach Analyst, Assortment Planning, who report(s) to you.
- Point of contact for Merch Team, Director, VP, finance, etc.. in regard for their specific categories.
- Ensure a good knowledge of our store network in order to make appropriate decisions for the business unit

**The qualifications we are looking for**:

- Bachelorʼs degree in Business Administration or related field of merchandising.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Financial acumen and strong analytical skills.
- Demonstrated skills in influencing others, relationship building and acting as an active change agent.
- Project management experience desired.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint preferred.
- Retail experience preferred.
- Ability to interface effectively with management at all levels of the organization.
- Excellent time management/organization skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- At least 2 years of supervisory experience
- At least 4 years of experience in product merchandising, buyer or selling
- Big-box home improvement retail industry experience an asset
- Experience managing a P&L
