**Fair Haven Homes Society is looking for casual Housekeeping/Laundry Workers (DAY SHIFTS, weekend shifts) in Vancouver & Burnaby locations**
- Fair Haven Homes Society is a non-profit organization which was founded over 60 years ago to provide low-cost housing for seniors. Today, Fair Haven provides residential care and affordable housing to more than 350 seniors in Burnaby and Vancouver. Fair Haven is recognized as a leader in residential care and services for seniors._
- We are looking for casual Housekeeping/Laundry Workers for our residential care homes. This is a casual position for vacation coverage and other absences. This position includes cleaning throughout the residential care homes and doing Laundry duties._

As per the current Public Health Order, full vaccination against COVID-19 is a condition of employment.
- **Key Duties: Housekeeping**_
- Primary duties include clean areas such as floors and stairways by methods such as wet mopping, scrubbing, stripping, sealing, waxing, buffing and polishing.
- Cleans carpets and rugs by methods such as vacuuming, bonnet cleaning and shampooing.
- Washes ceilings, walls, the inside of windows, and mirrors.
- Cleans, dusts and polishes the facility furniture and appliances.
- Cleans and disinfects bathrooms.
- Reports damaged and/or inoperable fixtures, furniture, unsafe or faulty equipment to designated person-in-charge.
- Strips and makes beds.
- Checks and restocks housekeeping supplies to predetermined levels.
- Collects and disposes of garbage in outside container.
- **Laundry **_ **Collects resident and facility laundry from designated areas.**
- Weighs laundry, records weights, and sorts.
- Loads and unloads non-domestic washers and dryers; operates same by selecting appropriate cycles, switching on and off machines, and determining length of time of cycles.
- Sorts, folds and stacks clean facility laundry, and places on clean laundry carts for delivery.
- Hangs appropriate personal laundry on hangers.
- Folds personal laundry and puts back in personal laundry bags for pick up or delivery.
- Labels residents’ personal and facility laundry as directed.
- Irons and makes minor repairs to laundry.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- **Qualifications**:_Grade 10 plus one year’s recent experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- **Experience & Abilities**:_
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
- Ability to organize work.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
