**Overview**

The Clinical position requires the ability to comprehend and interpret medical information, along with a proven track record of supporting clients through difficult decisions. This is a part-time role suitable for a ACP/CCP, registered nurse, or an individual with equivalent firsthand experience.

**Duration of contract**:1 year with possibility of renewal.

**Location**:Whitehorse preferred, remote work from other Yukon communities will be considered. Must live in the Yukon.

**Hours**:Part-time / negotiable hours per week

**Wage**: $3,600/Month

**Equipment**:Employees will be provided necessary equipment to complete tasks. A laptop & phone will be provided.

**Responsibilities**:

- Support 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals and families in making informed healthcare choices.
- Undertaking various clinical responsibilities while ensuring utmost confidentiality.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other health navigators and professions/disciplines in a team environment
- Demonstrate conflict management skills
- Identify client needs, provide information about care options, and address concerns.
- Advocate for clients' needs, including accompanying individuals to appointments and liaising with healthcare providers.
- Communicate with healthcare providers and the Government of Yukon to identify pathways and barriers to care.
- Stay updated on best practices in 2SLGBTQIA+ healthcare and available services in Yukon and Canada.
- Adapt role and activities to meet regional needs and address policy challenges.
- Adhere to all Queer Yukon Society policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Participate in relevant staff and team meetings.
- Maintain a tidy and organized workspace.
- Ensure confidentiality and secure storage of client information.
- Other duties as agreed upon based on capacity.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- LPN, Registered Nurse, ACP/CCP, or other relevant care experience
- Strong knowledge or firsthand experience with the 2SLGBTQIA+ community.
- In-depth experience, knowledge, and/or training in Trans-related healthcare.
- Previous experience in the healthcare sector and/or systems navigation.
- Training or experience in anti-racism and/or anti-oppression.
- Understanding of Yukon's First Nations communities.
- Planning, priority setting, time management, organization and coordination skills.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly with vulnerable populations.
- Basic familiarity with EMR, Gmail, Google Drive, and Zoom.
- Lived experience of barriers to medical care (e.g., transition-related barriers, medical racism, remote community experience) considered an asset.
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle or reliable transportation for medical appointments.
- Experience working with and delivering health services to First Nations clients, integrating holistic Indigenous approaches with Western approaches an asset
- Current BLS certification.
- Current valid license/certification an asset.
- Experience working in the non-profit sector is considered an asset.
- TDG certificate an asset

**Additional Information**:
