**Who We Are**:
Squamish Nation consists of 23 villages and is comprised of descendants of the Coast Salish Aboriginal people who live in the present-day Greater Vancouver area, Gibson’s Landing, and Squamish River watershed. As an organization, we provide support to the greater Squamish Nation Community through service. With 12 departments with individual areas of expertise, we ensure Community Members have access to necessary programs and services.

**About The Opportunity**:
Working as an integral part of the Ta7lnew̓ás Education, Employment and Training Department, this position is responsible for managing job placements, working one-on-one with clients and employers. The incumbent will assist clients develop job readiness skills, identifying job skills required, and identifies gaps between skills required and existing skills. In addition to working on skills related to performing specific job tasks, the job mentor will work with advancing the clients interpersonal skills necessary in the workplace. The Job Mentor will work closely with the employer’s mentor on a successful employment and job progression plan. The Job Mentor will partner with an employee during their employment. They offer advice and guidance to help foster and promote the professional development of a new employee. The mentor will understand the position, and can be an effective source of advice, encouragement and aid in career development.

- Able to disseminate complex information to stakeholders in a meaningful way.
- Resourceful and organized with excellent time management abilities.
- Able to deliver negative information tactfully and diplomatically when needed. Acts ethically and handles sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Team-oriented with a positive, approachable attitude.
- Communication and understanding for low-income workers to help understand and adjust in the workplace environment (not sure how to say this but important for competencies).

**Salary**:$ 60,652 - $ 67,848 annually, plus a comprehensive benefit program.
