Summit Veterinary Pharmacy is seeking two full-time Pharmacy Assistants to join our busy Chewable Treats Department team.

Located in Aurora, Ontario, Summit has been supplying prescription compounded medications to veterinary clinics across Canada for over 20 years. Our mission is to set the standard for excellence in veterinary compounding; enabling veterinarians to fulfill their commitment to their clients' health and well-being.

**Principle Responsibilities**:

- Verify the prescription’s accuracy with the hard copy.
- Compounding chewable treat prescriptions.
- Label the compounded preparation correctly [Rx label, lot label, cautionary labels and auxiliary label(s)]
- Verify the calculated label with the hard copy for accuracy.
- Manually calculate for hard copies without calculation label.
- Weigh all prescription ingredients using the analytical scale.
- Maintain an adequate stock of all of the ingredients used in the products.
- Assist Production personnel by mentioning any ingredients that need to be replenished.
- Maintain the general cleanliness of the equipment and area.
- Dispense the finished product in the appropriate packaging.
- Record expired drugs in the Drug Destruction Log and dispose of them accordingly.
- Safely operate all equipment in the area, ensuring all SOPs are followed.
- Assist in other areas during slow periods as outlined by your Manager or Senior Manager.

**Educational/Experience Requirements**:

- High school diploma (O.S.S.D.)
