Waste Connections has an immediate position available for an **ADT** **Equipment Operator **for our **Ottawa Landfill **District in **Navan**, ON.

**Location**: 3354 Navan Road Navan, ON
**Pay**: $24.60 per hour, Full time with benefits, 44 hours per week

**Summary**:Operates various equipment including articulated trucks and backhoe. May also include forklifts, loaders and front skid steer loaders.

**Duties And Responsibilities**:

- Operates equipment for leveling and operates tractors to load materials such as dirt and rocks.
- Operates backhoe and articulated trucks as required.
- Operates various equipment for general site preparation, landscaping, snow removal, and related assignments.
- Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices, including routine inspection and maintenance of equipment
- May be required to watch the public drop off pad, litter pick, shovel, mow lawns.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

**Minimum Job Requirements**:

- High school diploma or GED; at least 1 year of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
- Heavy Equipment Operator experience.

**Working Conditions And Physical Effort**:

- Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as; extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, bio hazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.
- Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
- Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance including tire pressure, checking oil and water levels.
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
