Active in the commercial, industrial, and institutional fields of construction, M.J. Dixon Construction Ltd. provides a complete General Contracting and Construction Management Service. We are currently hiring for the full-time position of a Construction Scheduler to join our team.

**Responsibilities**:

- Develop and maintain strong customer focused relationships with all stakeholders.
- Communicate with site staff and subcontractors to determine the actual construction progress and provide regular schedule updates based on provided information.
- Complete site walks to verify short term lookaheads.
- Follow up with project team to validate the schedule.
- Evaluate construction progress and perform regular progress updates, as required, and prepare the reports for evaluation of the schedule health.
- Maintain the integrity of the master schedule for each project and identify and record the impact of work performed according to the schedule.
- Prepare and maintain the project schedule log on a regular basis.
- Provide progress reporting to project team to ensure subcontractors/crew reperformance in accordance with milestone dates of Baseline Schedule.
- Continuously expand and update professional knowledge of all scheduling software to ensure maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
- Participate in the planning and schedule preparation process during pursuits and response to RFP documents in projects.
- Prior to project start, create and revise preliminary master schedules and proposal for Operations detailing the sequence of all work to be performed to ensure schedule is realistic and competitive.
- Participate in developing and maintaining a database of construction productivity rates, procurement durations, lead times and project risk items.
- Identify unplanned events (new changes/unforeseen conditions) and incorporate their impacts into the schedule.
- Develop as-built versus as-planned schedules to provide a manageable “snapshot” comparison of the project schedule.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, designers, estimators, procurement staff, construction managers, contractors, and other project services staff to provide detailed planning and scheduling of projects from conceptual planning through engineering and construction.
- Develop schedule logic and constraints, realistic activity durations and available manpower and resources.
- Provide guidance, direction, and specialized assistance for the resolution of difficult project control problems including time impact analysis.
- May interface with clients, attend regular meetings and give statistical reports.
- Prepare standard progress reports for each assigned project.
- Read and interpret construction drawings and job specifications.
- Maintain careful documentation of all schedule submittals and related facts, so that any requests for time adjustments can be measured against the accepted schedule in place at the time any delays or changes were experienced.
- Coordinate with project team to develop revision or recovery schedules as needed.
- Track the contract document requirements for schedule adherence, as well as change orders and contract amendments.
- Interpret performance curve data and forecast productivity; provide manpower information for forecasting.

**Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, or engineering preferred. Technical training or related experience will also be considered.
- 10+ years’ construction scheduling experience, including five years of proven leadership experience directing scheduling functions.
- Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, etc., plus an in-depth understanding of the interdependence and relationship between other functional units
- Working knowledge of standard cost control methods utilized in the execution of various types of projects (EPC, Joint Venture, Lump Sum, time and Material, Maintenance)
- Proficiency in various project controls software such as Excel, Primavera (P6), Microsoft Project, and other company-specific software
- Advanced understanding of field construction operations and how a project is constructed, including logical sequencing of work through all phases of the project from pursuit to project closeout.
- Ability to complete quantity take-offs and understand productivity rates.
- Advanced understanding of planning and scheduling principles, best practices, and techniques
- Effective listening, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills.
