The Guest Activities Manager is a core member of the Management Team at Nimmo Bay. This role oversees the successful and safe creation, development, and implementation of guest programming at Nimmo Bay Resort.

The Guest Activities Manager is responsible for overseeing the Guide and Wellness departments as well as the Guest Experience Coordinators. This role works closely with their direct reports to ensure that each guest experience is thoughtfully designed and carried out with the highest level of care and attention to detail. In addition to this, the Guest Activities Manager works collaboratively with their direct reports to inspire creative programming, develop, and implement standardized systems and operating procedures, uphold safety protocols as well as develop, refine and deliver an exceptional guest experience at Nimmo Bay Resort.

The Guest Activities Manager takes the lead on creating, implementing, and upholding systems which promote a seamless guest experience, executed at an exemplary caliber, in a workplace that promotes open communication, collaboration and learning. This is a full time, year-round salaried role that is based primarily at the resort during our operating season (May through October), and from your home office for the rest of the year.

**A successful applicant will demonstrate the following qualifications**:

- Proven management experience, or the knowledge, desire and passion to excel in this field.
- Management experience in a remote resort setting.
- Working knowledge of various computer software programs (Google Drive, Daylite, Square)
- Excellent professional communication skills in a hospitality environment.
- Trustworthy and loyal.
- Strong logistics and coordination skills.
- Ability to spot and resolve problems efficiently.
- Ability to delegate tasks to multiple employees.
- Up to date with travel trends and best practices.
- Ability to manage personnel effectively.
- Guest-oriented and service-minded
- Management diploma or degree in business management or adventure tourism management or equivalent experience.
- Experience in marine boat guide operations in North Pacific coastal regions, with preference given to experience navigating and guiding in the Broughton Archipelago and Tofino coastal areas.
- Knowledgeable of Transport Canada rules and regulations and the ability to lead daylong expeditions with up to 12 guests.
- Strong logistics and coordination skills and experience in operating vessels in a variety of weather conditions.
- Knowledge of DFO regulations and awareness of current conservation activities
- Knowledge of BC Parks operations and permitting
- A critical thinker who can assess evolving situations and understand and mitigate exposure to risk while maintaining professional communications.

**Additionally, the following certifications are not pre-requisite for the role but are considered an asset.**
- SVOP (Small Vessel Operator Proficiency)
- SDV-BS (Small Domestic Vessel - Basic Safety)
- ROC-MC (Restricted Operator Certificate - Marine Radio)
- Marine first aid
