We are looking for a **Financial Analyst**, who has strong analytical skills to join our Finance team

Reporting to the Director of Accounting and Contracts, as the Financial Analyst you are responsible for supporting the annual budget and polices management of programs and services, working primarily with Employment Programs, ensuring the achievement of identified performance targets and well managed expenditures to budget.

You are a skilled and proactive advisor that works in collaboration with the Finance team and members of other departments to support Managers. In this position you will also provides supervision and leadership to other departmental staff.

- Advanced MS Excel and database skills

- Ability to analyze and resolve problems
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and mentor

**Roles and Responsibilities Include**:
1.Supervises staff by performing duties such as assigning work, providing feedback and evaluation, determining training requirements, orienting new staff, and maintaining timekeeping and attendance records. Resolves staffing issues or concerns.

2.Reviews government contracts and budgets for Employment Programs to ensure that all legal and policy requirements are met, such as ensuring that enough funding is available and fully allocated, ensuring that associated contract schedules are in accordance with related directives and government expectations. Identifies anomalies and non-compliance to the relevant manager.

3.Monitors Employment Programs’ contracts and budgets through to expiration or end of fiscal period by performing duties such as regular monitoring expenditures against budgets, conducting internal and external financial reviews to check for compliance with terms, identifying anomalies and discrepancies, and recommending solutions and options to management.

4.Investigates and resolves problems related to contract and budget administration in accordance with established policy. Consults with Management as needed.

5.Performs budget duties such as gathering relevant information, preparing preliminary budgets, determining budget implications of expenditures.

6.Assists managers responsible for contracts by performing duties such as providing information related to legal and policy requirements of budgets and contracts, and providing guidance, advice, and recommendations related to contract terms and conditions.

7.Performs general accounting duties such as recording and posting of financial transactions.

8.Collaborates with payroll to analyze salary budgets for Employment Programs and provides meaningful variance reports for leaders.

9.Helps to prepare, and submits regular claims, forecasts, and statistical reports to funders (monthly and/or quarterly) and management.

11. Performs projections, forecasts, and analyses, including providing costing information to management during contract negotiations.

12. Develops and maintains data tracking mechanisms such as databases and record keeping systems.

13. Coordinate the preparation of T4E slips for clients including remittance of withholding taxes.

14. Performs monthly review of Employment Programs’ financials to ensure accuracy and completeness of transactions recorded.

15. Prepare special reports for management by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

**Required Qualifications**
- Successful completion of two-year (2) Diploma in Financial Accounting or Financial Management.
- Recent, related experience of three (3) years.
