Victoria, Canada Rosehips Midwifery Full time

JOB POSTING- MOA for Rosehips Midwifery

The clinic is located near Hillside Mall, and includes 4 Registered Midwives, 2 Board-Certified Lactation Consultants, and a Registered Social Worker providing counseling services, with anticipated growth in the next 1-2 years to include other allied health professionals and primary care providers.

We provide primary perinatal care with a focus on new families and reproductive health care. We are committed to a progressive, inclusive, supportive team environment. We care for many clients from equity-deserving populations, including IBPOC, LGBTQ2IA+, young parents, and others who face barriers accessing the health care they need. We care for folks during a very incredible, yet vulnerable time in their lives. Trauma-informed, culturally safe care is essentially in our work environment.

Our work environment includes:

- In-office and some work-from-home days
- Growth opportunities
- On-the-job training
- Friendly and relaxed atmosphere
- Extended Health Benefits after a probationary period.

We are looking for a Medical Office Assistant to join our team. Applicants seeking both full time and part time work will be considered. The MOA will be on-site in clinic for at least three in-person days per week, and the remainder of the hours can be worked remotely or on-site, as negotiated prior to start date.
- Have the ability to develop rapport and communicate clearly with our clients and staff.
- Have a basic working knowledge of medical terminology.
- Be a front-line presence for the practice, taking incoming calls, being clients’ first point of contact, and arranging appointments for clients with our practitioners, with other medical clinics, and at VGH.
- Help clients feel warmly welcomed while maintaining professional communication including diplomacy and confidentiality.
- Be familiar with spreadsheets, able to learn our EMR systems (Including submitting Billings and encounter reports to MSP, entering client demographics, uploading and dispersing lab reports, archiving past medical records, etc.), and use our phone and fax systems.
- Work with our primary midwife team to develop office routines and share tasks as required as we open this new clinic space.
- Be committed to providing culturally safe, trauma-informed, and inclusive care to vulnerable populations.
- Prior experience in a medical or allied health office is desirable.
- People who identify within IBPOC or LGBTQ2IA communities are encouraged to apply.
