**Position Summary**:
Student success at University is enhanced by health promotion, wellness education and disease prevention. The Wellness Education Coordinator is part of the larger Student Wellness Centre team, and has direct responsibilities related to the strategic development for services and programs supporting student well-being, training, health education and promotion, oversight for student volunteers and liaising with outside community agencies with a shared mandate for wellness education and promotion. Overall, this role oversees all dimensions of the design, implementation and evaluation of wellness education based on current research and identified outcomes.

**Accountabilities**:
**Health Education and Promotion**
- Identify key messages and key times of the year and work with communication specialist within SWC to promote health and wellness via social media and other communication channels
- Develop marketing and promotional strategies and content for wellness programs, such as Thrive week, class talks to raise awareness of programs and use of effective social medial platforms
- Responsible for development, implementation and evaluation of wellness education and promotion programs for all students (including but not limited to mental health awareness and stigma reduction, resilience, smoking cessation, alcohol and substance abuse, stress management, sexual health, and healthy living.)
- Provides current and reliable wellness information and lifestyle strategies for students
- Provides outreach to the greater campus community related to wellness and health
- Research and implement best-practice programming in health promotion/education around a variety of diverse topics including mental health, physical health, nutrition, exercise, substance use
- Work collaboratively with a variety of departments, faculty and staff to enhance the collective understanding of students’ diverse wellness needs within larger campus environment (e.g. residence, academic advisors, Laurier International)
- Coordinate certificate tracking and communication

**Health Assessment Surveying & Data sharing**
- Administer health and wellness surveys, focus-groups and other identified feedback mechanisms to enhance understanding of health and wellness needs and trends
- Assist in the development of a strategic response to data, (e.g. NCHA data), including the development of education, awareness and training materials and events that respond to priority topics identified in the survey
- Deliver presentations, workshops and training and information sessions related to wellness data (e.g. NCHA data) and our Laurier students

**Support for student volunteers**
- Assume responsibility for the SWC Student Volunteers and staff in creating, planning, delivering and evaluating current, new and diverse health promotion/education initiatives in a variety of areas
- Create and oversee strategic vision for student volunteers, including meaningful involvement, accurate job descriptions, partnerships with specific departments (e.g. kinesiology), training and evaluation
- Act as a resource for groups outside of the Student Wellness Centre, including wellness-related Student Clubs and the broader graduate and undergraduate Student Associations.
- Support student volunteers in their role as representatives and ambassadors of the Student Wellness Centre (e.g. Open Houses)
- Work collaboratively with staff ov
