**ABOUT CMiC**

**ROLE OVERVIEW**

We are seeking a Systems Administrator to help with a wide range of tasks, including answering user questions, analyzing network speed and performance and creating budgets for upgrades or repairs. The role will cover systems administration tasks ran in a mixed environment including a Microsoft Private Cloud, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Amazon AWS and Oracle OCI supporting both Windows and Linux operating systems.

Resourcefulness is a necessary skill in this role. You should be able to diagnose and resolve problems quickly. You should also have the patience to communicate with a variety of interdisciplinary teams and users.

Your goal will be to ensure that our technology infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
- Install and configure software and hardware
- Manage network servers and technology tools
- Set up accounts and workstations
- Monitor performance and maintain systems according to requirements
- Troubleshoot issues and outages
- Ensure security through access controls, backups and firewalls
- Upgrade systems with new releases and models
- Develop expertise to train staff on new technologies
- Build an internal wiki with technical documentation, manuals and IT policies
- Have a certain level of provable proficiency in Linux and Windows operating systems
- Demonstrate competency in Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Oracle OCI
- Support and conduct recurring after hours maintenance activities

**Requirements**:

- Proven experience as a System Administrator, Network Administrator or similar role
- Experience with databases, networks (LAN, WAN) and patch management
- Knowledge of system security (e.g. intrusion detection systems) and data backup/recovery
- Ability to create scripts in PowerShell, Perl or other language
- Expert knowledge in Linux and Windows operating systems
- Expert knowledge in Microsoft Azure, Amazon AWS, Oracle OCI, Microsoft 365
- Resourcefulness and problem-solving aptitude
- Excellent communication skills
- BSc/Ba in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related
- Maintaining the internet connection and firewall and monitoring security tools
- Managing the configuration of operating systems
- Responding immediately to security or usability concerns
- Anticipating potential problems and taking action to solve them before they impact users when

possible
- Adding, removing or updating user information such as logins and passwords
- Documenting the network’s configuration
